Saw It. Pinned It. Did It. – Hair Dryer and Straightener Organizer

This project would be better completed on a day when it’s not windy. The item falling down, dirt spraying around (adding texture) etc can really mess it up. Just sayin, for the sake of prevention, not that it happened to me. 😉

I originally planned to screw this to the inside of my bathroom cabinet however it may have taken longer to dry due to above mentioned challenges. I will be attaching to the cabinet this weekend though. If you want you can do without spray painting it if you plan to hide in a cabinet, it can also be screwed to the wall so feel free to decorate it up. Add glitter, glue twine or colored yarn around it, stencil a pretty design on it. Whatever your heart fancies.

Original Pin:

Supplies :

PVC Pipe – Wye Shape Size: 3x3x2. Cost: $3.86

Spray paint or other decorating supplies

Wood screws – 10 x 3/4 if attaching to a cabinet Cost: $1.18

Hair Dryer Organizer

This was after the first coat.

Just place your hair dryer and straightener in the openings and you are done! Easy as pie!

Okay now that I finished the project I will say screw this to a wall or cabinet, it is not heavy enough to really stand alone. I apologize for the final pic, boy howdy I didn’t realize all the color clashes that would happen in that pic.  Talk about COLOR!! LOL. I do LOVE this as a storage solution though. Might even add some straight PVC too for all my brushes and curling irons.

If you haven’t already follow me on Pinterest here.

Now head on over to our two co-hosts Steph and Katie. Be sure to check out all the other pin inspired projects completed.

  1. Okay, this is just smart!!!! Guess where my hair dryer and flat iron are? Um if you said “where is in the floor under my vanity,” you’d get $200, Alex!

  2. This is brilliant! Who would’ve thunk it?!

    • Kerry says:

Thanks Tori! Gotta love Pinterest. Might add a damask decal to the front to Jazz it up a bit. Love how easy it is to customize it too.

  3. Kerry says:

    Ha-ha. Mine too!! Before my hair dryer was hanging on the floor. I do have a four section desk organizer that houses my brushes, curling irons and straighteners but it is overflowing. {Shame}

  4. This idea is genius! I am heading to Home Depot to pick up supplies to make my own.

  5. Lisa (JDizz) says:

Awesome will be doing the same thing…heading to my toy store (home depot). Might add more to it. If it turns out I will give you a pic.

    • It is so easy to customize based on your color choice. Add glitter stripes, or opposing color stripes. Skies the limit to your imagination. I would love to see how yours turns out!

  6. something makes me want to decorate this like mario brothers. hmmmm

  7. i can hear the power up noise

  8. Hello Kerry
Thank you for the link 🙂

  9. OMG I love this! I have my dryer in a basket on the counter, looking cute and a holder for my straightener but I may have to do this since it’s so pretty!

    • Thank you! It is so easy to customize too to whatever color you have in the bathroom. I eventually screwed it into my cabinet since it is not very heavy. You could always glue some weights around the bottom if you wanted to stand it up.
