If you saw my post from Monday you know that I am updating my office. It started with building a new L shaped desk. It was a hodge podge of styles, hobbies, and items and this time I want to keep the functionality but streamline it. So I am sharing some of my inspiration for the different areas of my new office.
Here is the desk before and after:
This will be on the wall opposite the desk and will be a reading nook, with the shelves above for all my books. I am trying to decide between the chaise or the tufted chair. Both choices are under $200.00. Bonus! Which would you choose?

This nook will replace the other table in my office that houses my sewing machine and where I currently do my makeup so I need a new spot for that since I like having it out of my bathroom.

definitely the chaise! i never can read comfortably on a chair – i always have to stretch out 🙂 i love the new desk and can’t wait to see the rest of the office.

I typically troll Marshalls, HomeGoods, etc. for art. I don’t like too many worded things near each other. I also frame my own photos of family, friends, scenery, dogs.
Good call on room for Seamus. Yes Marshall’s always has great stuff. Agree on too many worded prints. They will be spread out and on the shelves. Still deciding everything so it will depend on space.

I echo all the chaise recs! You’ll want to spread out, for sure! Have you googled for free printables lately? I like to get those (or pay for some on etsy) and just get them printed at walgreens so I can change my mind and not feel guilty about it. Love your vision!
Thanks! I haven’t searched for free ones but a few of the ones I posted about I purchased on Etsy for $5 or under. I printed them at home since I have a color printer. I’ll have to search for free ones though.

I love the tufted chaise! It’s a dream of mine to own a chaise lounge of some kind. What a fun project. I wish I had an extra room to make all mine! My husband is an artist, so we have a lot of his stuff hanging in our apartment, plus maps, some fabric art, and random stuff we’ve come across. Have fun and I’m sure whatever you decide will be perfect!
A chaise has always been a dream of mine too. I love them, so classic. Sometimes you just have to claim a space no matter how large or small! 😉
That desk is gorgeous!!!!! If it were me, I would pick the tufted chair and do an ottoman with it so you have the option if you want your feet up or not. But the chase is lovely too, and you can’t go wrong with either! Love that art! And those shelves!!!
