Happy Monday. It was a very full weekend. I think I might be coming down with something but I am trying to fight it off. I have been chugging orange juice to try and help.
It was a full weekend though and I finally got to go hiking!! It is making me even more excited for the snow to melt since the hiking was a little slow going. I even fell into a snow drift that was melted in the middle and it went to about mid thigh. I just got back up and kept going though.
I went to the Mall to get my niece a swimsuit she wanted at the Justice store. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I have a serious hatred of malls so this was a big win!
After getting home I finished reading my book, and then took a nap. Once I woke up I saw that the snow in the driveway was gone so I decided to go hiking. It was so perfect, a little hard with the snow, but also exactly what I needed.
I spent the rest of the night watching a few episodes of The Fall. So creepy but good. I also started a new book called Come Home.
Sunday was my nieces birthday party. It was held at the Children’s Museum. They were having a blast and there were a few floors so it kept them busy and entertained.
How was your weekend?
Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston.
Kelly says
How great that you were able to get out. I haven’t ventured out myself yet, but am hoping in another week or so, it will be safe to even navigate the narrow streets to get around the neighborhood, at least. The birthday party looks so fun. Little girls are so fun, aren’t they? Hope you feel better soon. Rest up.
Kerry says
It was a must after this Winter. Hopefully in another week or so the snow will be melted. Little girls are so fun! Thank you.
kathy at realtalk says
YAY for hiking!!!!! the trails are still covered in ice and snow; snow i can deal with but ice? slip and fall and break my neck down the cliff? no thanks.
Kerry says
Yes, it was mostly mushy snow which wasn’t too bad, though a slipped a time or two, but it wasn’t on cliffs. Yikes.
Linda sheridan says
Great that you went on your hike. I seem to be glued to my home lol!
I read Lisa Scottolini’s column in our Sunday Inquirer and I love it. Her daughter writes a column once in a while, too. The party looked perfect.
Off to get my routine mammogram!
Oh if they had to do this to testicles. Lol.
Carpe diem. Love, SMD’s Momma
Kerry says
Thank you. It was so nice to get out and get a workout in outdoors for a change. This is my first book of hers and I am liking it so far, I didn’t realize she wrote a column. Haha! If only men had to go through it, there would be a better process. Good luck!
SMD @ Life According to Steph says
I love The Fall! I need to get on season 2. I’ve only watched one episode.
I’m glad you got to go hiking and rejuvenate your spirit.
Kerry says
It was so good, I binge watched it this weekend. It was amazing just to be outside and get some fresh air.
ellesees.blogspot.com says
i need to see wild! i read the book and can’t wait to see the movie. i love the fall. it was so scary and that guy (actor) scares me now!!
Kerry says
It was really good, and I cried in a few spots. It made the story a little more cohesive for me.
It totally got me hooked. I can’t believe it’s the same guy from 50 Shades. He plays it so well.
Alanna @ Alanna and Co says
Now I really want to see Wild! I read the book but didn’t get around to the movie.
Kerry says
Yes, I missed it when it as in the theaters since I read the book so late but the movies was even better. It moved faster when the book lagged a bit, though I liked both.
kristen says
i have heard about the fall but haven’t watched it, and that is so good about the movie being more powerful than the book – i’ll have to check it out for sure!
Kerry says
I kept hearing about it so I finally added it on Netflix, so worth it. Totally worth the watch when it comes out on Redbox. Hard in spots but really powerful.
Biana says
I’m so happy to hear that you were able to get your hike in…it’s been so cold but like deceiving outside since the sun is shining!! A birthday at the children’s museum sounds like so much fun!! Hope you fight that cold off and have a great Monday! xo, Biana –
Kerry says
It wasn’t so bad when I went since the wind died down but it was frigid this weekend. It was so nice to be able to hike again. I am chugging Orange juice and drinking lots of tea to fend it off. Fingers crossed.
kelli says
I love the Children’s Museum birthday party idea, I’m always on the look out for cool weather ideas since K’s birthday in in November.
I hope you fight it off, being sick is no fun!
Kerry says
It kept the kids busy for sure! It was a smaller one too so they had the place to themselves. Thanks, I am hoping it stays away my sinuses are not happy.
B @ The Sequin Notebook says
That Children’s Museum looks so cute! Glad you were able to squeeze in some outdoors time this weekend.
Kerry says
There was so much for them to see and do, so it kept them busy and burning off energy.
Bri @ My Life As says
That’s great that you were still able to get a hike in even with the snow. I need to finish my book so I can read/watch Wild…which is also true of a lot of books/movies actually. I am so behind on things I want to read/watch.
Kerry says
I was ready to forget about it, but when I saw the snow melted I went for it. Yes, I feel so behind on some of the movies out there because I want to read the books first!
Carly Blogs Here says
So glad you got to go hiking finally– even with all of the snow! So fun you were able to celebrate your niece’s birthday- her cake is so cute!
Kerry says
I really wanted to go especially since last weekend got cancelled. It was so nice to be outside again. She was so excited and happy.
Ashley says
I’m glad you finally got to hike! The pictures look wonderful! I have never heard of The Fall?? Hope you feel better soon and it doesn’t get worse!
Kerry says
It was amazing just to be outside and getting a good workout in. I missed it. It is so good, a little creepy but so good. The guy from 50 Shades is in it. Thank you. I am hoping it holds off.
Tracie says
I can’t believe you still have so much snow! This is the first year in a long time that I haven’t had snow this late and it’s been exciting. I love going with my friends who have kids to the Children’s Museum we have here, it gives me an excuse to play around 🙂
Kerry says
It has been brutal but hoping it will be gone in another week or so. It has been so long since I’ve been to a children’s museum it was fun!
chelsea jacobs says
I have got to watch Wild! I’ve heard so many amazing things about it!
Kerry says
I think it moved along faster than the book. I can’t say that for most books turned movies.
Brianne Bracco says
We have a children’s museum here and I loved going there as a kid…so much fun 🙂 Awesome you still got your hike in and I’ve been meaning to watch Wild. I heard nothing but great things about it.
Kerry says
It had so much with them to play with and on. I have been wanting to hiking and get outside for weeks, so excited to get outside. It was really good, and a little better than the book.
Jana @ Jana Says says
Hooray for short mall trips!
I need to watch The Fall. It’s on my list.
Kerry says
I hate malls so the faster I can get in and out the better. It is so creepy but in a good way.
Lindsay T says
oh!! I never like the movie better than the book, I’m going to have to check Wild out!!
Kerry says
I know I almost never do but I think with it being condensed it really made the story move a little better.
Leeann @ Join the Gossip says
Happy birthday to your neices!!
I need to watch The Fall, I’ve heard good things.
I can’t believe all that snow still. You’re a trooper for getting out there and hiking!
Kerry says
Thank you! It is a really good show and really creepy. I was having serious cabin fever, I needed to smell the fresh air!!
Nadine says
Still snowing?! Wow!! We got a lot of rain the last week, but it seems to be warmer temps from here on out now. That is awesome that you at least got to make it out, even if you did fall in the snow some. Hope you have a great week!
Kerry says
It was only a dusting and then it melted so I can handle that but hopefully the rest melts this week. I can finally see more hiking in my future! Here’s to a good week!
Kim says
Hope you are feeling 100%!!
I need to see if I’ve read that Lisa Scottoline book – I think I’m caught up on her books but I can’t remember.
Kerry says
Thanks! I am trying to hold it off but it was a rough day. This was my first from her, but I like it so far.
Kate @ Green Fashionista says
Considering how much I loved going to the mall when I was younger, I despise it now just like you! In and out if I absolutely have to set foot in one 😉
Hope you feel better soon!
Kerry says
I know, we used to spend hours at the mall as a kid and now I hate it. Much prefer the outlets and smaller strip malls. Thanks, lots of vitamin C.
Stacia says
What type of creepy is The Fall? It looks interesting! The birthday festivities look like so much fun!
Kerry says
It is based on a serial killer and the cops trying to figure it out, so you see both sides. It is creepy in that he is just way to good at it, and he doesn’t seem to want to stop. They had a blast and expended a lot of energy which is good for the parents! 😉
Amy @ The Crazy Wise Woman says
Hiking in the snow!!! You go girl. Sounds kinda fun though:) It’s always just good to get out and do something to celebrate spring… I am guessing anyway where you live!
Kerry says
It was a lot of fun and it was just nice to be outdoors!! It had been way too long and I missed it!
Nichole says
Looks like a great weekend! I just bought Wild to read and then can’t wait to see the movie!
Kerry says
Thanks! I was a good read a little slow at time but such a strong inspirational read.
Tori@Cupcakes & Crossbones says
I hope you are not getting sick, I know it’s that time! Your nieces looked like they had an amazing time! What a cute place for a kids bday
Kerry says
I went full blown sick and ending up going home early today. After 4 naps I am starting to feel better.
Christy@SweetandSavoring says
Hurray for hiking! I’m planning on going tomorrow in Western Massachusetts, and hopefully a little bit more of the snow will have melted! Kids’ birthday parties can either be ridiculously cute or ridiculous maddening, it helps if the guest of honor is your niece or nephew 🙂
Kerry says
Yeah, hope you have a great hike! Hoping the snow melts in the next week or so. It totally helps because the chaos is intense.
Amber says
I love Lisa Scottoline’s books. She has a new one coming out April 14th called Every Fifteen Minutes. I canot wait to read it.
Kerry says
She was a new to me author but I am liking it so far. I’ll have to check out some of her other books.
Rose says
Glad to hear that Wild was just as good as the book. It’s on my list to see. Even when I was reading the book, I thought Reese was a good casting choice.
Kerry says
I think I liked it even better than the book since it flowed a little better or quicker. I think Reese did a really great job with it, so much emotion.
Heather @ My Little HEA says
I came down with something last week and I couldn’t let it keep me down so I was chugging OJ too! I need to watch the movie. Glad you’re able to hike again!!
Kerry says
Glad it didn’t get you down! I ended up taking time off yesterday. It was so good and dare I say almost better than the book.
jackie says
sounds like a good weekend. we got snow this week so i’m hoping spring will actually show up soon ugh!
Kerry says
It was a good one for sure. Oh no! I thought we had it bad. Hope Spring comes soon for you!
Kay R. says
So good that you got to go out for the hike! Also I like to be in and out of any mall in the quickest possible time. I sooo feel you on that!!!
Kerry says
I was so glad to just be outside, but I love hiking. Malls should be banned! Haha!
Kimberlee @ I Have A Degree In This! says
If you can’t hike, might as well as watch a movie about hiking hehe right? Hope you’re feeling.
Your nieces party looked like fun!
Kerry says
Right! After reading the book I had to watch the movie and it motivated me to get moving.
Amanda says
Malls are TERRIBLE. And to go into Justice… with a bunch of crazy pre-teens and kids running around amock?! You are a BRAVE soul!
Kerry says
They are horrible, and they make me all twitchy. I totally look online for the mall map and plan my entrance to make the faster route out. Haha!
Janna Renee says
Happy Birthday to your niece! It looks like she had a ton of fun. Good job getting in and out of the mall!
Kerry says
Thank you. She was so excited and had a blast.
