Is there really any better combo than chocolate and peanut butter? No I didn’t think so. I have been making some version of this dessert for about 12 years. I started with the Eagle Brand boxed version but they started to become hard to find and maybe got discontinued so I started to search for recipes that used ingredients I could always find. After trial and error I finally found this recipe from Kraft Foods. I have been using this one for about 6-7 years now and it is perfect every time.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter, softened ~ 3/4 cup Crunchy Peanut Butter ~ 22 NILLA Wafers, crushed ~ 2 cups powdered sugar ~ 1/2 of 8-oz. tub Cool Whip Topping (Do not thaw) ~ 3 oz. BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate
Microwave the Cool Whip and chocolate in microwaveable bowl on HIGH for 1 min and stir.
Microwave for an additional 15 to 30 seconds and stir until chocolate is melted. Spread over the peanut butter layer.
Refrigerate for 2 hours to set. Pull foil out; cut and serve.
Then just sit back and watch them disappear!
What is your favorite sweet treat?

I have to agree, peanut butter and chocolate is a hard combo to beat! I used to live off of reeses cups, but surprisingly enough, I don’t think I’ve ever made anything like a homemade version. I love vanilla wafers too, so I’m totally sold. 🙂

It taste a lot like a Reese’s and so worth making them! Just try not to eat them all! 🙂
