Is there really any better combo than chocolate and peanut butter? No I didn’t think so. I have been making some version of this dessert for about 12 years. I started with the Eagle Brand boxed version but they started to become hard to find and maybe got discontinued so I started to search for recipes that used ingredients I could always find. After trial and error I finally found this recipe from Kraft Foods. I have been using this one for about 6-7 years now and it is perfect every time.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter, softened ~ 3/4 cup Crunchy Peanut Butter ~ 22 NILLA Wafers, crushed ~ 2 cups powdered sugar ~ 1/2 of 8-oz. tub Cool Whip Topping (Do not thaw) ~ 3 oz. BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate
Microwave the Cool Whip and chocolate in microwaveable bowl on HIGH for 1 min and stir.
Microwave for an additional 15 to 30 seconds and stir until chocolate is melted. Spread over the peanut butter layer.
Refrigerate for 2 hours to set. Pull foil out; cut and serve.
Then just sit back and watch them disappear!
What is your favorite sweet treat?
OMG that looks SO GOOD.
my fav dessert/treat is at this restaurant where i only eat dessert (once a year on my birthday so it’s coming up YAY!) and it’s tapioca with coconut and syrup. sounds boring but IT’S SO GOOD.
Tapioca?! I will have to take your word on that one. Cheesecake is usually my go to birthday dessert.
That looks AMAZING!!! I LOVE pretty much any combo of peanut butter and chocolate 🙂 Stopping by from the linkup!

These look good. Not only do i like peanut butter. but chocolate too. i bet these are fabiulous.
Oh, then you can’t go wrong! This is just as good as a Reese’s PB cup.
I have to agree, peanut butter and chocolate is a hard combo to beat! I used to live off of reeses cups, but surprisingly enough, I don’t think I’ve ever made anything like a homemade version. I love vanilla wafers too, so I’m totally sold. 🙂
It taste a lot like a Reese’s and so worth making them! Just try not to eat them all! 🙂
Yum! I’ll take several! 🙂
They are too good not to share! 😉
You should mail these to me, thaaaanks.

My mom used to make bars like this as a kid, and I loved them! I’ll have to try making them again because they look so good.
They are really easy to make and so good! They are really soft so they melt in your mouth! Hope you like them!
These look really good! I can definitely see them being a huge hit at parties during this season – everyone loves peanut butter!
I am not allowed at Thanksgiving without bringing them!! Haha! Perfect for parties or even cookie swaps.
