Is it Wednesday already? This week has been a struggle I have felt just off. I think it may be the heat but I am not sure. Either way I am trying to just stay cool and be as low key as I can be until I feel better. Yesterday I got home and immediately laid on the couch for 30 minutes. I started to get a second wind and then headed out to do some birthday shopping. Retail therapy, yes please.
no on to some of the things I have been currently doing…
Reading: I am switching between two books. Just a Little Kiss I am reviewing and sharing an excerpt for next week. It’s a small town girl who wants out and only dates summer boys. Mason is her good friends cousin who is trying to get over a breakup and have a little fun while helping his Uncle with his charter business. Can their love last more than a summer?
In Trust No One a famous crime writer is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s and confesses that his stories from his books are real because he committed the murders. The problem is whether he thinks he did it because his disease or he is just remembering things he’s done.
Struggling With: Working out this week. It has been in the high 80’s with about 90% humidity which just makes me tired and cranky and not want to move.
Buying All The Things: Itook a trip out to Ulta and Bed Bath and Beyond and scored some birthday items. I don’t wear really much makeup in the summer, usually just bronzer to even out my skin but that is it. I get really tan so finding a bronzer without shimmer is hard, so this NYC option is perfect. It evens my skin without adding anymore color since I am dark enough. Also I love tumblers since I drink a lot of water, and this Turvis one is adorable.
Feeling: Really tired. Last night after work I got home and immediately laid on the couch. This time of the year is always tough, busy season at work.
Thinking: I want to join a new gym. I have been working out in my basement or outside but soon enough it’s going to be too cold out.
Adoring: This picture of Seamus. This was last night. He usually stares at me before running and jumping on the bed.
What has you been doing lately?
Biana @ Blovedboston says
I totally know what you mean about the heat being draining – I could not keep my eyes open last night and was asleep so early!!! Yay for birthday shopping – it’s the best! xo, Biana
Kerry says
It was brutal, I totally napped on the couch. It’s like a rite not a need. 😉
more coffee, less talky says
i’m going to be joining a new gym too; i managed to talk the guy down from $80 to 40/month so i’ll be doing that until february (i think). haven’t pulled the trigger yet but definitely thinking about it.
we’ve had the opposite weather the past week – like fall is actually here. it’s chilly in the morning and night, with about average 20/21C and grey skies. wtf!
Kerry says
Look at you. I need you to negotiate for me! Awesome deal. I actually might go back to Planet Fitness, it’s better than the other two gyms I went to and they expanded their parking which was why I left. Oh man I am jealous of your weather, Fall weather is my favorite, bring on the scarves!!
Linda sheridan says
Our humidity and higher temps left last night. I was a slug yesterday for no good reason. Sometimes your mind, body, soul are telling you to rest. I have the least on my schedule ever in my life and I still was so sleepy!
Onward to the weekend! Have an easy rest of the week!
Love, Steph’s Momma
Kerry says
That is awesome it is going away! I will take rest whenever I can get it, it’s rare these days. Hopefully the weekend comes fast.
Bri @ North Star Girl Lone Star World says
I’ve been SO tired lately. I’m hoping to get some clothes moved over to my roommate’s Saturday & then hopefully it’ll be nice and I can nap by the pool.
Kerry says
Ohh at least you will have the pool to nap by and then jump in to cool off.
Heather (@mylittlehea) says
I had the help of alcohol making me tired this past weekend but the heat sure does make things miserable. Really looking forward to this weekend. Hope you find a new gym!! Seamus is sooo cute, love that smile. I’ve been makeup shopping too, love all of the options and glad you were able to find something that would work perfectly!
Kerry says
Haha! Yes alcohol makes me tired too. Thank you, that smile is the best it makes everyday worth it. Ulta is a dangerous place!! Haha!

It is such an interesting concept and so far so good.

Retail therapy is the best kind! Feel better!
Kerry says
It always makes everyday better! Thank you.
Rebecca Jo says
I buy Turvis tumblers for all my friends for gifts… & never bought myself one. I need to get my hands on one fo rme.
Kerry says
Yes, you should get yourself one. I had iced coffee than water in mine. So versatile.
Brianne Bracco says
I’m with you on the heat making me tired and cranky too. Ugh. I get home and all I want to do is change into something cool and not move from the couch. I literally threw an internal fit when I MADE myself get some form of exercise yesterday haha
Kerry says
That was how I was yesterday. I immediately laid down. It is brutal.
Carly says
Seamus looks so cute in that picture! It looks straight out of a magazine. I can’t wait to hear what you think about that wonder stick! And your new tumbler is so cute- love the floral design.
Kerry says
Aww thanks. It was just a quick one too while I was in bed. I am interested to see how different it goes from my regular contouring routine.
Nadine says
The heat alone this month is enough to cause extreme exhaustion and a lack of motivation to do much other than Netflix. I love your retail therapy finds!! NYX is such a great brand. Both of those books sound really interesting!
Kerry says
I am all for a Netflix binge! Totally blaming my birthday for it, a little splurge is good. Such a good price point too. So far I am liking both books.
Stacia says
Trust No One sounds INTENSE but like one I’ll be putting on my library list!
Kerry says
It is seems like a good mystery/thriller so far. Full review to come.
Amanda says
Ugh. Humidity. The actual worst. I barely want to get up and go to the bathroom when it’s hot! lol
Kerry says
It is brutal. I don’t want to do anything right now. So not worth doing my hair either. Not cool humidity.
Em says
Thank the LORD the temperature suddenly dropped dramatically here! Marathon training is hard enough without the crazy 90 degree and humid weather! And happy national doggy day to Seamus!!! 🙂
Kerry says
Girl I can barely walk in this heat let alone run. Hope you get some cooler days!
Amber says
Ugh, working out in the heat is awful. I usually go for a jog and the humidity makes it miserable.
Kerry says
It is miserable when it is that hot. Hope for cooler weather.
Kelly says
I am melting. I understand what you mean. I get home and just want to curl up and wait until I’m cool. But then we never put the AC in the bedroom this summer, so even night time is awful. Here’s to cooler fall temps. 🙂 And cute fall clothes.
Kerry says
Yes, I just want to nap all night. I can’t imagine not having at least a window AC. Here’s to hoping the rest of the week is better.
kristen says
that picture of Seamus is so precious!!
i have been struggling with working out as well, but i don’t have the weather as an excuse because it’s been quite cool the last couple days!
Kerry says
Thank you, he melts my heart. Oh man it is tough to get going again, hopefully we can both get it going!
Marie says
The heat this week has been so intense, it’s had made me so cranky and so tired. This afternoon was so bad. I haven’t felt like doing anything this week. Hopefully, they humidity goes away soon. Hugs.
Kerry says
It just zaps all your energy. The humidity is at least a little better today.
Kate @ Green Fashionista says
I hear ya on this week! Hoping it goes by quick for you, and things pick up! And loving that bronzer, glad you found one that’ll work for you 🙂
Kerry says
I wish things would slow down not pick up! Ha! Fits my tone so much better.
Erin of TexErin-in-SydneyLand says
Trust No One sounds intriguing. I added that to goodreads when you listed it for the challenge.
Kerry says
It is good so far, not something I have read before which is refreshing.
