I can’t believe the weekend is finally here. On Saturday I am going to an all day blogger conference in Boston and looking forward to meeting up with Kate who is also going. This will be my first blogger conference and I am a little excited because it is by Wayfair. Hopefully I will learn a ton and maybe get some cute swag. Either way lunch is served by a local chef and a cocktail hour at the end. Total score. Enough of my rambling let’s got on with my favorites from this week.
Favorite Book: I have two books to share with you because I couldn’t decide. One was for fun for the Winter Book Challenge and one was for personal growth.

The second book was a really short read, it was only 149 pages and it read as if you personally had a life coach. The Experiment: Discover a Revolutionary Way to Manage Stress and Achieve Work-Life Balance discusses how to reduce stress by dealing with the everyday stresses in a different way. It also discusses how to find time and structure your day to be more efficient, and tackle the things you dread the most in order to move on from the day.
In the way the book is structured Dennis is a business owner on the verge of a mental breakdown and divorce and runs into Robert a life coach on the train. They see each other in multiple sessions and focus on certain issues in his life. It was broken down in such a way that I found myself saying duh! Why is this so simple but you just don’t see it when you are in it. Though in the book one of the basic principles was Compassion. Compassion for yourself for not getting it sooner, or being frustrated that you weren’t learning the lesson sooner. It also gave Dennis homework and tasks to do which you could use for your own life. I can’t recommend this book more highly, I think I need to read it quarterly every year.
Favorite DIY: Such a cute and easy easy DIY, I will be doing this one really soon.

Favorite Quote: Don’t focus on the small hurdles but the overall happiness.

Favorite Funnies: If only.

How I was feeling on Wednesday

Yes, I am a dork but for some reason this made me chuckle.

That is all I have. Go enjoy the weekend!
What are your plans for the weekend?
Also linking up with Natasha for 5 on Friday.
i am going to try that corner trick! and have fun at your conference!
Right!! I am always cold at work and I need some warmth.
Hope you have a wonderful time tomorrow – which I’m sure you will!! I actually totally agree with the refund on the calories for things that weren’t as good – such a letdown right?! Hope you have a great weekend!!
Thank you, it should be a blast! We totally should get the calories back. Hope you have a great weekend!
that conference sounds like fun! i do hope you feel better soon. EVERYONE is sick. there are people coughing all around me so i stick to my desk, never touch anything and am constantly washing my hands because i don’t want to get sick!
I feel like it is going around. People need to leave their germs at home!
Such a cute DIY!
It looks so easy to make, so hopefully I can make time to do it.
Have fun at the conference! I’m on the waitlist. 🙁
Enjoy the weekend!
Oh man! Hope you get in. Let me know if you do so we can catch up.
Oh I’m so jealous you are going to that Boston Blogger event. I so wanted to go but had a scheduling conflict. It’s gonna be so much fun. I want to hear all about it!! Have a great weekend!!
What a bummer it would have been nice to meetup. Hope you have a great weekend!
Such a lovely read! Very nice the blogging get together on Saturday. The stress management book is perfect. We over complicate our lives and a few basics on how to handle events makes it easier to live.
Your attitude and how you react is so important. Love all the ecards- especially the one about the calories!
Love the DIY Peace, joy, & believe are 3 of my favorite words.
Enjoy every minute of your weekend.!
Love, SMD’s Momma
It was a really good book and the way it was written was less textbook and more real life experience. Hope you have a great weekend!
Um, you guys forgot to invite me to Boston to go to the conference. I’m sad! Especially because my coffee table is from wayfair! I expect lots of play-by-plays! But no seriously, hope you have a great time!
I think you were previously engaged! 😉 I love Wayfair but have only shopped online so this will be fun.
Enjoy the conference! Happy Friday my friend!
Thank you. I think it will be a lot of fun! Happy Friday!
Ohhh yum- the chili looks delicious!
I am really kinda excited about making it.
A blogger conference? FUN!!!! I can’t wait to hear how it was!
And that DIY – So easy! And So cute! Love it lots!!!!
And chili sounds so wonderful right now. A huge steaming bowl!
Thanks! I am excited. It looks so easy, it will be a cute decoration for the holidays! Perfect for a cold night.
I cannot wait to hear all about this blog conference, and if you get swag from Wayfair I’ll be super jealous!
Seriously that is what I am most excited about. I normally just order online. Looking forward to some of the breakout classes too.
Have fun at the conference. Blogger conferences are the best!
And too funny that we both used nostril funnies this week! I need to make chili. I think this weekend.
Thank you. This is my first one. The struggle is real!
That cold funny is hilarious! And SO TRUE!
It is so true. They are never on the same drip cycle! Hehe!!!
I was hoping to make chilli this weekend as well although it’s not that cold yet. What about the recipe makes it paleo? I don’t see a link to check out the ingredients.
I think the exclusion of the beans and the use of just diced tomato and paste for the base rather than a possible sugar filled sauce.
I want that chili! I think the DIY packages look super cute too. Depending on what your recap is, I may even try it.
I am hoping it is as good as it looks. I think it will be a super easy DIY. A little paint and burlap.
The Experiment sounds like an interesting read. I’ll have to look into it. Have fun at the blogger’s conference! I hope you meet a lot of awesome people!
It was so clear and concise I really enjoyed it while learning from it too. Thank you, I am really excited to meet fellow bloggers and learn a bunch.
LOL that 90 degrees thing is hilarious – though not gonna lie it took me 2 seconds to get it haha!
i have never read any suzanne brockman… maybe i should check her out!
I couldn’t help that one. She is really good and really focuses on strong alpha male characters and the women tend to be strong and independent which I really like about her writing.
Can there be a refund on ALL calories?
Don’t we wish!
Blogger conference? How fun! Have a great time!
It was a lot of fun and hosted by Wayfair. So many cute projects and ideas for holiday blogging.
Your funnies always make me smile 🙂 I have a sinus infection right now, so that one pic is perfect!
Thank you! I love finding them. Doesn’t it always happen that way, never on the same drip[ schedule! Hope you feel better soon!
Oooh Im going to check that book out!
I love so many of her books, she really didn’t disappoint.
