As of yesterday at 4:30pm I was on vacation until Tuesday. I may or may not have taken a quick nap on the couch for 30 minutes, but let’s just say this is much needed rest. I am looking forward to getting a lot of naps in while still getting a lot of hiking done, some DIY projects, some reading, knitting, and baking. You know the normal non-resting resting I always get myself into, then need another vacation. I am going to Spooky World too on Saturday which I am really excited about, I love Haunted Houses. So here is to packing in so much fun I want to collapse, and hopes for nap times.
Favorite DIY: This is such a fun and easy DIY that the candle project is going to be incorporated into my dining room tablescape. There are already a ton of leaves in my driveway and yard so I’ll have plenty of options.

Favorite Self Help: Chalene has been a favorite of mine for years. From when I fell in love with TurboFire and Chalene Extreme to her Push book based on her 30 day Push Challenge (also FREE) which is a video series that gets you making, setting and working on goals you set. She not only is a fitness Maven she also is really passionate about family and helping others achieve success and balance. She has a new 4 part series called Overcome the Overwhelm that helps you learn to do less and achieve more. She makes every thing sound so simple, and it is FREE!!! Holler! *This is not an affiliate thing I just really love her series, have done them myself and I have learned from them.
Favorite Funnies:
I don’t want to give anyone ideas but really this would work.

This reminds me so much of my childhood!

How I feel after a cheat meal!

What I plan on doing a lot this long weekend!

and with Natasha for 5 on Friday.

I’m so jealous of your mini-staycation!!! I love that DIY and that maple bacon fruit dip – amazing!!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
It is much needed! I am hoping I can find some more candlestick holders since mine are black and I don’t want to spray paint them. Have a great weekend!
That Homer funny is hilarious… and so true! haha Enjoy your vacay girl!
Right?! Hope you have a great weekend!
I love that mantle idea and will be copying it (maybe as soon as this weekend? We’ll see!). You totally deserve a break and I hope you get one that’s filled with Netflix, naps, and snacks. So sad I can’t crash your haunted house night of fun!
Totally copy it and we can be twins!!! I got a Netflix coupon so that is totally happening! You need to move here ASAP!!!
You totally need to tell me how Spooky World is. My sister really wants to go but I’m DEATHLY afraid. I don’t like scary things at all. We did the haunted house at the Topsfield fair and I kept my eyes closed the whole time. Love love that book quote. Has happened to me many times. Have a fab weekend!!
I love haunted houses so I am sure it will be great but I’ll be sure to share. Have a great weekend!
I love haunted houses too but Little K still isn’t old enough, I can’t wait until she is!
Enjoy your vacation!!
Hopefully soon, they are so fun. Hope you have a great weekend!
those DIYs look so easy and fabulous! i also love that book quote, so true – and I see she is holding a copy of Mansfield Park, lol
Right?! Easy but packs a punch! Which shows what good taste she has, good eye! 😉
Love the leaf candles! Getting lost in a book is wonderful! I could read and crossword puzzle my life away.
LOL on the wifi ecard. I may make my apple stuffing- the alternative to pineapple stuffing, like bread pudding but no cream/milk. Smells divine baking. I am ready to attempt dipping cake balls. Have the poundcake/buttercream frosting
balls all ready to go! Enjoy a happy, productive few days off in a row. Looking forward to reading about your projects.
Love SMD’s momma
Me too, if only I could read all day! Ohhh that sounds amazing! Sounds like a fun weekend of baking for you. Hopefully soon I’ll make my way down to see Steph and I can sample some of these goodies!
That Netflix shirt is GREAT!!! And I am definitely pinning that fruit dip to try. I love that fall means bacon (at least in Pinterest world :)) Enjoy your vacation!!
Isn’t that shirt too cute! Really I can eat bacon, year round everyday but it does seem to sneak up a lot in the Fall, but I don’t hate it! 😉
Love that book quote. Looking forward to Spooky World too!
It is going to be so fun! I haven’t been to one in a few years but I love them.
mmmm maple bacon! Totally healthy, I like it.
It’s the perfect combination. The fruit totally makes it healthy. Hehe!
Yes to long weekends! I have a 3 day weekend. I’m just excited about getting to sleep past 5:30 AM. Hope you have lots of fun!
The sleeping part is the best part. I am hoping for a few naps. Hope you enjoy your long weekend too!
I am just like you. I always need a vacation after my vacation because I didn’t really seem to relax!
Why can’t we relax!! I normally take them to recover and recharge but then I end up trying to do the million things I haven’t gotten to for months. Ugh!
Yes about Netflix and snacks. That’s what every good weekend needs!
I am really hoping at least one day is a not move from the couch kinda day!
Haha the Hide-N-Seek is so true!! I miss that game.
Growing up my neighborhood had so many kids, so we played it a lot. So much fun but it got heated at times! Haha!
Four day weekend, holler! Enjoy and make sure you actually do relax! You’ve earned it.
All week I was sort of in a weird “where am I” place after reading a great book.
Thank you. First day was more running around but relaxing but I am in for the night to hopefully relax and watch a movie or read. I love and hate that feeling. Sometimes it just doesn’t leave you and makes you think.
The Homer IS funny! I like how the apples make the maple and bacon healthy. That means I get to have more, right?
The shirt is pretty funny too!
Totally means you can have more, it’s science! Haha! 😉
Love that mantle. I have no DIY skill at all, but that looks doable. 🙂 And that fruit dip? OMG! Yum! Have a wonderful vacation. Rest and do lots of things that make you smile.
Thank you. That one was really easy!! Totally manageable. It was less relaxing, more productive. One of these days I’ll learn.
nice!! enjoy your time off; you totally deserve it. i would nap, binge watch shows and lay around during my vacation too!!
It wasn’t as lazy as I’d hoped but it was productive. Maybe another time I’ll actually just lay around and do nothing!
OMG That DIY Fall decoration is too freaking cute; I love it!
and I don’t know about that dip LOL… it looks um… interesting that is for sure, haha.
Thanks for the info about the self help books and series… I could definitely use those right now!
Thank you. I was excited to get that one done!! It may not exactly be healthy. Hehe! She always has really good programs, and they helped me get back on track.
You always find the most hilarious funny things!
Thank you!! It takes awhile to find the right ones!
Hope you’re loving your long weekend…sounds like you have some fun projects in mind to fill it up!
It was bust for sure but still lots to do!
Bahahah… that t-shirt is AWESOME! So jealous of your long weekend… I’m not ready to go back tomorrow. Hope you’re enjoying it! 😀
I’m not ready to go back!! Feel like so much more to do!!
love the diy! i’m looking forward to a day off next week, hopefully!
Hope you get one you have been busy lately too.
That tshirt!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED!!!!!! Also, I feel Homer too!
You get away from me with your maple bacon tempting shit. After this weekend it is lettuce and celery for Nadine!!
It is the cutest shirt! I am with you on the celery and lettuce. After this weekend I need it too!!
That DIY is soooo super cute! And the leaves are falling all over the place now. It can’t be too hard to find good, red leaves.
I have so many leaves in my yard it is ridiculous. My town doesn’t collect lawn items either until November so lots to choose from right now.
