I want to be mad at Monday but since I have a 3 day week I am not really mad at it! In case you missed it I had a slight not yet mid-life crisis, you can read about it here. So this weekend was about time to myself. Not just lazy watch Breading Bad time (which I did too) but time to actually sit and think and plan. Let me tell you it was really beneficial. It is not that I am not grateful for where my life is, but that I know I can live my life more mindful and intentional with goals in mind. I am already an avid list maker so it was more like a list of yearly/life goals. Either way I sat down and decided on the 3 things I wanted to change or put a little more focus on and came up with a short and long term goal for each. More than likely will share more info soon. So needless to say my weekend was successful but maybe not as interesting. Which I am totally ok with it. I did get a few things done so on with the show!
Friday: Since I wanted to have most of the weekend free from errands I ran around like a crazy person after getting home from work. I headed to Ulta Beauty Supply. I was so disappointed since the two things I wanted they didn’t have in stock but I did get a few goodies.
The Revlon Colorburst in Bejeweled and NYX Eyeshadow in White
Then I headed to Christmas Tree shop. I didn’t take pictures of what I got because I am ashamed of everything I got (I filled a huge basket). I only went in to look at candles and coffee mugs and ended up with way more!! It’s not my fault I like a good bargain. Though I did not get this nonsense!
Then I hit the Halloween supply store for a few items for my costume and I saw this little gem.
They had the beetlejuice suit too. As if seeing it once wasn’t enough. Oh well. I hit Target too for some essentials but nothing worth showing in pictures.
Saturday: I started the morning with some coffee and worked on finishing my book. Which I did. 🙂
I looked through some magazines to find this recipe I wanted to modify. Problems of a foodie! This is only my magazines not recipe books. Eek.
I made the original recipe for my Dad once and I had an idea what I wanted to use. So I headed to the grocery store for the ingredients and food for the week. I spent the rest of the afternoon writing down goals and plans. Then for dinner I made Chorizo Pot Pie, and it was AMAZING!! I am so excited to put this recipe together because it was so good! Recipe coming soon.
I watched a few episodes of Breaking Bad while knitting. Exciting I know, contain yourself! 🙂
Sunday: Nothing like starting the day with a yummy breakfast!
Then I was a willy coyote of cleaning (dishes, laundry, bathrooms) you know the usual suspects. I made my two cakes from Tuesday’s class and more frosting. A few more episodes of Breaking Bad with a little more planning. I watched the Patriots game and took Seamus for a walk during halftime.
Once the Patriots lost in overtime 🙁 I raked the leaves, made dinner and then sat down for some bloggity blog writing with a little refreshment.
So it was a little bit productive, a little bit reflective, and a little bit relaxing. Overall pretty good weekend!
How was your weekend?

Looks like you had a pretty awesome weekend. A trip to Ulta and the Christmas Tree Store sounds like a really good day. That food looks mouthwatering!
Kerry says
It was a good day for shopping, not so much for my wallet! Haha! Thanks, the Chorizo Pot Pie was my favorite! So good! Since you like Mexican food it might be right up your alley!

my husband was so mad at that the pats lost and he even stood up and shouted THAT WAS A BULLSHIT CALL! and stormed out of the room. i guess it didn’t help that i cheered when the other team won even though i have no idea who they played but i love to bug him and went so far as to shout BRADY, YOU SUCK ASS! he was not pleased with me hahahaha!
Kerry says
You need to go sit in the corner and think about all that you have done wrong!! It was such a horrible game and that was a new rule they just brought into play. Totally sucked that they lost! 🙁

Oh, Christmas Tree Shop. I am so beyond jealous. And it always makes me laugh when I get halloween decor from there and my friends are like ‘you got this from a Christmas shop?’ and then I have to explain. That pot pie looks to be right up Tony’s alley! Glad you got what you needed to get done, done:)
Kerry says
The one by my house is really nice! It is so crazy dangerous because I go in for one or two things then next thing I know a whole carriage is full! The spice section alone is dangerous business! 🙂 I think I could have the pot pie everyday this week, no joke!

OMG the dog seat. Fabulous.
I love Sue Grafton novels! I’m on the waiting list for that one.
I love the Christmas Tree Shoppe too.

I don’t know what will happen when she gets to Z but I hope she starts back in reverse because I love that series! The Christmas Tree Shop and I have a love hate relationship! My wallet hates it but I love buying stuff from there. 🙂

I could spend my entire paycheck at Ulta whether they have what I need or not! Haha
Kerry says
It could be so dangerous!! I just wished they had been better stocked. I was going in there with a purpose so I wouldn’t get distracted by shiny things, I only half succeeded!
Leeann @ Join the Gossip says
Good for you! I def need to do that. I’m actually moving next month and just deciding to finally do that took years lol!
Thanks for linking up 🙂

It is so important to take the time to listen to that inner voice and put it down on paper!! Otherwise life keeps going and you stay the same!! Congrats for taking the leap and moving!!! That is awesome!

Mmmm..eggs. Someone at work was making eggs this morning. Full on in the office. Was so strange but I was pretty jealous!
What the heck is up with that clip on pet seat? Absurd!!!
Kerry says
In the office??? Haha! Now that is a fun office! That dog seat was just too much!!! I don’t need dog food on my table! Craziness!
Jodi says
Wow that was a very productive weekend. I never get that many errands/chores completed in 1 weekend! That dog chair is SO wrong in so many ways. Ugh!
Kerry says
Thanks! It was mostly just Friday then I felt a little lazy. I did feel very accomplished though. I know, right? You really need your dog sitting at the table? No thanks!
Stacia says
Sounds like a whirlwind but awesome Friday/weekend. I’m glad you got to sit down and figure out some of your goals. That’s always such a refreshing feeling!
Kerry says
It was a really great weekend! It really helps to make the time to sit and think versus filling every waking moment with busy work! It felt good to write it all out.
Kimberlee says
lol oh Halloween costumes… love a trip to Ulta and Target!
Thanks for linking up 🙂
Kerry says
Yes, sometimes the costumes are too much!! LOL! Ulta and Target is dangerous, I can’t leave without spending money.
