Happy Freaking Friday!! I have to say this is the best Friday ever! A lot to go through so let’s get to it.
One: I feel like my posts all week have been dog centered but its my blog and I do what I want. Just kidding. I found some lumps on Seamus and I was so nervous seeing as my kitty passed away a little over a year ago to feline breast cancer, that started with finding lumps. I wanted to get him looked at, better safe than sorry. So I stressed all week and cried a bit waiting for his appointment. I am so happy to report that it was just a fatty tumor (totally common and NOT cancerous) and he is ok!! He is a little chunky monkey though since the Winter hasn’t allowed for long walks since the snow drifts are higher than he is tall, so he will be getting more exercise.
Two: I have not finished this book yet but I am loving it so far. It is told in multiple voices including the voice of a German Shepard that is tied to Rick Stanton and then to Kellan Nicholson once he is sent off to War as a K-9 service dog and Kellan as his handler. It goes on to tell the story of how after war the two men, the dog and Rick’s wife cope to life after war. The war (WWII) is a back story and not too heavy detailed so don’t worry it’s relevant but not over done. It is more the story of people, how they interact, and how a dog can bring people together and make a difference. Unless the ending is horrible this may become a new favorite book.
Three: The Mugs are back, of course.
Nikki from the The Pink Growl is a huge Luke Bryan fan and she has introduced me to a few country songs I now love.
Helene from Helene in Between is the queen of EDM music and dances her booty off at Tomorrowland.
Erin from The Downdog Blog is going through a lot of changes lately including changing he blog name, moving across country, and starting a new job. What remains though is her love for Yoga, her dog Fred, and her manfriend.
Four: I have been feeling a little down lately but trying to stay positive that it all will be good in the end. Besides, if it is not then it is not the end! 😉
Five: Blogger Book Club – Call me cheesy for doing a link-up within a linkup but this week has been crazy so I get a pass.
I was really worried I was not going to be able to fit this book in based on having 5 books already checked out of the library but it was a very quick read. I read this genre quite regularly so nothing shocked me about this book. Simon was the womanizer next door to Caroline. The book begins with Simon knocking boots so loud it knock the picture off the walls of Caroline’s bedroom.
Simon then moved on to two different women over the next two nights. The end up forming a tenuous friendship to which as you can guess turns romantic. The second part of the story is Caroline and her missing “O” after a bad experience with an ex. The banter between the two is quick witted and fun. They become good friends, watching scary movies and hijinks with Caroline’s cat.
I will say this was a quick read, the story moved fairly quickly except towards the end. There were times it was very juvenile in the writing as if the author just wanted to say every dirty word possible. Some of the conversations they had within themselves were cliche and even pointed out how childish they were being. It wasn’t all bad and the relationship built and grew in a believable way. The more we learned about Simon the more you understood him better and liked him a lot. Overall I give it two stars, it is just ok. Not horrible but I have read better.
Well that is all I have for you today. Get out and enjoy the weekend. I know I will since I am getting together with my two best friends!
i love mugs as well! i’m looking for a funny ecard mug but haven’t found the right one just yet. i’m glad that seamus is ok!
Ohhh an ecard mug would be fun! Thank you, I was so relieved. He got lots of kisses and snuggles last night.
Ahh! I’m a dog mom too so I would totally freak out if there was any little lump or bump on my dog. I hope your puppy is ok!
Thank you! Yes, it was a fatty tumor which is very common and NOT cancerous. So he is going to be ok. I was so relieved it wasn’t cancer. He got lots of extra cuddles! Thank you.
awww I love that Luke mug!!! haha That picture of Seamus at the vet is too cute! Hope he’s ok!
I thought you would like that one! 😉 Yes he is totally fine. It is just a fatty tumor which is totally common and they don’t do anything for it. It is NOT cancerous so he is ok. 🙂
I’m so glad Seamus got a clean bill of health! That book sounds really interesting, if it doesn’t have a horrible ending I’ll add it to my to read list.
Thank you so much! I was so happy I cried! I’ll let you know how it goes, I am really loving it so far.
I’m so glad your dog is okay. I had to take one of mine in recently for something that had me a nervous wreck and in tears, too!!!
It is so hard when they are sick. They can’t tell us how they feel. I was so relieved it wasn’t anything to worry about. Hope yours is okay too!!
Seamus, I’m so glad you’re okay buddy. I was worried about you. Milk it for all it’s worth and make your mama give you extra treats and snuggles… that’s what I’d do. 🙂 xoxoxo – Johnny Cakes
Haha! I love that this was from Johnny Cakes! The little chunkster needs no extra treats but he will get boot camp-esque walks and lots of snuggles! 😉
So glad your doggy is okay!! Pups are the best! Xx.
Thank you! They really are, and he is such a little love bug! Happy Friday!
I’m SO glad that Seamus is okay! I’m sure your weekend will be so much better now that you can relax about him 🙂
-Sharon
Yes, it will be so much more relaxing. I will also use the weekend to get in some really long walks with him.
Fantastic news about your pup!! That’s great!! I saw that book on Amazon a few times now and have been worried that it would try to be a little 50 shades-esque….If it’s cheap enough for the kindle may get it for a my flight in a couple of weeks!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you so much! No it had steamy scenes but not bondage stuff. Hope you have a great weekend!
Ah… glad your pup is ok!
Thank you so much! I was so happy it wasn’t something major.
I’m so glad Seamus is okay! He is so adorable! That book sounds amazing; dog AND WWII related?! Adding to my book list!
Thank you so much! Yes the two men and the dog all served in WWII so it tells a little about their time in the war and then what happens to them when they come back.
Yay I am glad Seamus is ok! My pup Lucky has gained some weight this winter too so I’ve been trying to bring them to the dog park every weekend. I haven’t picked up any of my books in 3 weeks, I need to get on that!
Thank you! Yes, it is common for them to gain like it is for us! 😉 Seamus and Lucky are gonna need doggy boot camp! Haha! Get on it girl! I can’t go a day without reading.
so glad Seamus is doing well!! that is terrifying! and thank you for the mug :)! you are too kind!
Thank you! It is so scary when you don’t know what’s wrong. Very welcome, it felt very fitting!
I’m so happy Seamus is all good 🙂 Hawkeye and I would be lost without our chunky monkey friend! We have her yearly next weekend, I’ll let you know how overweight her taco bell eating butt is!
Thank you!! I mean everyone gains weight in the Winter and their fur adds like 10 pounds, right?! Haha! Hope she isn’t too chunky. Keeping my fingers crossed for a stellar vet visit for Hawkeye.
So glad everything was ok with your dogs! My dogs get those as well and I’m always nervous about it.
Thank you! It is the not knowing part that is the worst! Glad your pups are okay too.
So happy to hear about Seamus!! Cheers to that!! I am loving all those mugs too. You can never have enough coffee mugs besides my desk is a mess & I have no where to put them. I am looking for a new book to read. I got a library card & downloaded the app to just get it on the ipad now.
ps. I think we should exchange buttons the blog
Thank you! I was so worried and glad it was good news. I am seriously addicted to cute mugs! I love my local library, that is so cool that you can get it on your ipad.
So glad your puppy is okay! It’s the worst when you don’t know what’s wrong with them. And I can’t even imagine how much I would cry reading the dog book. I almost cried reading the description haha.
Thank you! Yes, just the waiting to find out was so tough! Seamus was shaking and put his paws on my shoulders. I wanted to cry.
Haha!! It really is a good book, i haven’t cried yet, but the ending might not be good. Hopefully it is, but we shall see.
Glad your dog is okay! We recently found a little lump on the back of one of our guy’s necks and I am freaking out. I need to make an appointment with the vet ASAP. I’m hoping it’s just a bug bite or a nick from when he was groomed.
And thanks for the book recommendations. I love books that involve dogs as a narrator. It’s why The Art of Racing in the Rain is one of my all-time favorite books.
I would make an appointment the peace of mind is so worth it. Hopefully it is an allergic reaction or a bug bite. The Art of Racing In the Rain is so good. I think you will really like this book then.
Love love love those mugs! I’m a huge Luke Bryan fan and a total yoga lover…. I need the yoga mug for sure lol Glad your doggie is okay!! That keep calm quote is sooo very true btw stay positive and have a great weekend!
Thank you! I am so very happy it was nothing to worry about with him. Hope you have a great weekend too!
Visiting from the link-up! That Luke mug is cracking me up–I think I need it 😉
Thank you! He does have a certain something-something!! 🙂
I am so glad Seamus is ok!!! I was so happy to see that on fb last night! 🙂
I couldn’t be more happy he is ok. He is my little butterball of happiness!
Oh my THAT FACE! That is one happy boy. I’m so glad he is okay!
Isn’t he just so adorable?! I am a little biased though. Thank you so much! It was so good to have him home happy and healthy!
I won’t bother reading the book- there are too many other good ones out there! So glad Seamus is okay!
Yeah, it was just okay to me. Thank you! He got extra loving for being such a good boy at the vet too.
OMG I NEED that Luke Bryan mug!!! So glad that Seamus is okay!!!! That is great news!
Haha! Isn’t it the best! Thank you so much, it was the best news ever!
So glad Seamus is OK!! I know that’s pretty scary – been there!
Thank you! So scary not knowing, but glad it was nothing serious!
Glad the pup is ok! And that book about the g.shep looks awesome! I’m going to have to add to my list!
Thank you! I just finished it this morning it was so good. Not how I expected it to end but how it was supposed to end. If that makes sense.
That blogger book club intrigues me, but I tend to stay away from that kind of novel. I’m glad you ended up enjoying it and I’m looking forward to seeing what her next book is.
Oh, and I’m an idiot, but I am SO glad that Seamus is okay!! I hate taking Max to the vet and always worry about worst case scenario, but it is so relieving to know that they are okay after.
Thank you. It put me at ease to know it was nothing to worry about, I couldn’t have handled it if it was so glad it was good news.
It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great either. The next book is The Fault In Our Stars which has been getting so much buzz. The movie is coming out soon.
Linking up for BBC and I agree the book went on too long. The last few chapters were unnecessary but I suppose it was good not great 🙂
Yes, I didn’t get the point of the last few chapters. It really should have ended on the vacation trip. It was totally a C for me.
Thank goodness Seamus is okay!!! What a blessing!
Thank you! I don’t know what I would do without him. His happy to meet me at the door everyday makes it feel like a home.
Yay for Seamus! I’m so happy it was nothing scary, Kerry! And um Luke can also shake it for me anytime, lol!
Yes, he just needs to get more exercise my chubby pup! 😉 Thank you! She does know how to wear some jeans! 😉
you are amazing!! I need that mug in a big way 🙂 I just sent it to manfriend with a hint haha!
Haha! So glad you like it! Thought it was perfect for you.
yayyyy! so GLAD he is a-ok! i’m hugging you both from here!
Thank you so much! He was so clingy in the office broke my heart but glad he was ok.
