I had big plans for this weekend. Okay not really but I didn’t plan to stay on the couch for 90% of the weekend either. After getting my flu shot on Friday during work I went to bed with my throat hurting. I had a ton of places I wanted to hit so I tried to head out and get it all done before noon so I could relax the rest of the night.
Saturday I hit the next town over to go to their used bookstore, Bearly Read Books. They had a good mix of classics, history, regional and fiction books. I picked up a book for my Dad and even a Christmas present for someone.

After hitting the grocery store I headed home and took a nap. Reading, cough medicine and another nap rounded out the night.
Sunday was all about resting, in between chores around the house I read and caught up on my DVR.

I wanted to build a new entry console table but such is life. I did find the energy though to hang the new mirror I found and at least change up the wall art.

How was your weekend?
Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston.
Ugh that always happens when I get the flu shot – end up getting sick 🙁 Glad the weekend wasn’t a total wash for you and you were able to get some shopping in too! Hope you’re feeling better! xo, Biana
Thanks. i didn’t want it to be a total waste so I had to at least get some stuff done. 😉
Hope you’re feeling better! I always feel a little “eh” after the flu shot as well…
It has been brutal, i am not sure I’ll get another one.
I have never gotten a flu shot and won’t get one this year either. I do think allergies are raging right now around here. You still got some things done! Healing lights and love for a good week.
Love, Steph’s Momma
Thanks, I think I will skip next years. Happens every time. Hope you have a great week!
Hope you’re feeling better. I have never gotten the flu shot, though I probably should, working in school. Take it easy and have a good week. 🙂
Thanks, I don’t think I’ll get another one.
Oh no! My husband felt off after his flu shot too! At least you are WAAAAAAAY ahead of the game with Holiday shopping! The mirror in your entryway is cute!
Yes, I was so excited to find some cute gifts. I had been looking for weeks now for the right mirror, so glad I found it. Thanks so much!
I’ve never gotten the the flu shot but because of how sick I got this year I’ve been thinking about getting it. Hope you’re feeling better and I think getting it on a Friday sounds like a good idea. I finished a couple books this weekend, too. Just can’t get enough books. I wish we had more used bookstores. The ones I’ve been to down here haven’t yielded very many finds. Loving the new entryway look!
I hadn’t been able to find any used bookstores so I am glad that one is so close. I have a bunch of books I need to catch up on so I didn’t really need anymore but you know, books!
oh no! that always happens to me, too. hope all is well now and that you’re back to your regular self! as least you have a cutie to snuggle up with!
Thanks. Still dealing with a cough and sore throat but hoping it goes away soon. He was the perfect cuddle buddy.
i LOVE used bookstores – you can always find gems in there. at our old office, there was a giant used bookstore just around the corner and i’d spend my lunches there!
That would be dangerous for me. It is close but out of the way, much safer for my wallet! 😉
Last year when I got the flu shot, I didn’t feel good for a week. It was terrible, so I feel your pain. Hope you are feeling better. I love that used bookstore. There is a good one in Salem that I haven’t been to in forever. Adding that to my places to visit this fall.
Yes, it doesn’t seem like we have many here so it was nice to find.
Used bookstores rock! Great finds.
This was a good sized one too, and only 15-20 minutes away.
My work is trying to make everyone get a flu shot and I really do not want too! Last time I had one I got sick, so I am trying to hold out. Crossing my fingers ha.

Fingers crossed. I would totally skip it next year!
I hope you’re feeling better, K was sick this weekend to. Must be a fall bug.
I love the book store!
Every time I get the flu shot I get sick. Never again. Hope K is feeling better. I am so glad I found it, really good selection.
I hope you feel better. I got my flu shot last week too and my arm is still hurting. Love the new wall decor..
It was brutal. Thank you. I am loving it, now to make a new table.
Hope you’re feeling better.
The flu shots scare me… yikes!
I could stay all day in book stores
Yeah I am done with them. So many good books to choose from, I tried to resist.
Aww I really love your Seamus sightings! Hope you’re feeling better 🙂
Thanks, he puts up with me taking a millions pictures of him.
That bookstore looks right up my alley! Loved used books – they feel so – loved! Also a weekend on the couch sounds fab to me!
It smelled liked old books which is never a bad thing. They had a really good selection too.
I hope you’re feeling better! I can’t believe you’re already thinking towards Christmas gifts. Way to go!
The crowds make me anxious so being able to get it done early is so nice.
Yay for books!
I like your mirror.
You can never go wrong with books. Thanks I am really liking the setup so far.
I refuse to get flu shots. I have never had one in my entire life and I think I have only had the flu once…maybe twice. I take my chances. I love your new mirror/art work! So pretty! TJ Maxx is one of my favorite places to hit up for gifts. You never know what you might find!
I almost never got sick before them and now it’s like every season change. So not worth it. I’m done. They always have such fun interesting stuff.
“I LOVE YOUR MIRROR WHERE DID YOU GET IT YOU HAVE GREAT TASTE!” ;P But seriously, that’s a cute mirror! 🙂
I’m jealous that you’ve already got your holiday shopping off to a start! The sooner the better, otherwise it can start to feel overwhelming.
Haha! TJ Maxx but you already knew that silly. I searched high and low for that thing and it was buried behind other pieces. The more I can get done but December the less stressed I will be.
Sorry you felt crummy after your flu shot, but it’s much better than the actual flu down the road *hugs*. Feel better!
Green Fashionista
I hope so, but either way I don’t think I will get it again. No fun!
As I’ve mentioned before, I just adore used bookstores, and that one looks so charming! As always, I love the Seamus photos.
Yes, you inspired me to find a local one. I could spend so much time there. Thank you, he is my little darling.
Oh I love the way you re did your front entryway!!! Want to come help me shop, DIY, and decorate? You’re so great at it!!! Ever since Jaxon arrived, finding the time and brain power has been hard haha.
I hope you’re feeling better!!!
Thank you, I still need to build a table. Awww thanks I am sure it is harder to do it for others than for ourselves but I would gladly spend your money for you! 😉 It must be really hard to get back into it with such a little cutie on your hands. Love seeing all the silly smiles.
Ugh I hope you’re feeling better! I started with a sore throat Wednesday and now have a nasty cough that won’t quit.
I need to get to a TJMaxx…and Marshalls. I have both in town and have never been to either!
The coughing is the worst, I am having the same. What?! You need to fix that pronto, those are my favorite stores.
hope you’re feeling better! my work wanted us to get a flu shot but i don’t like them. i don’t like shots in general (who does?). that bookstore looks so fabulous, as does that mirror! the title of your post made me laugh – love it!
Yes I don’t think I wouldn’t get them again. I wanted to just sit down and look at every book, so many to choose from there.
