This weekend was a good one!! When I am in nature I tend to come up with lots of ideas (blog and DIY projects), I look around more, and I just simple breathe it all in. I couldn’t have asked for a more full weekend, aside for more time to read and a nap, but beggers can’t be choosers right?!
Friday night I went down to my Dad’s since he was worried about the tablet that I got him and the amount of data he was using. So I grabbed Seamus and put on my IT hat to help out. I didn’t end up getting home till about 10 p.m. so I read a little bit before bed, but not much else. It was a long day.
Saturday morning was full of coffee and eggs while reading. I ended up leaving the house by 9 a.m. in order to get some shopping done for my costume after a quick stop at the library. I ended up at 5 below, Christmas Tree Shop, Old Navy, and Target. Two hours, half my soul and it was over. Oh did I mention I love buying things but hate shopping? Yeah, it’s true. It was time to restore my soul so I headed to my heaven on earth….hiking.

On the way home I stopped at the grocery store and then for gas and saw Spiderman.

After getting home I made a quick lunch, took Seamus for a walk and then did some reading and some catching up on blog things.
Sunday started by getting in some fuel while reading. I finished up the DIY lanterns I have been meaning to for weeks now I just have to figure out the art to go between them. Seamus also tried on his Halloween outfit.

They have no love for Bon Jovi!!

After the trails I headed to the grocery store to get some veggies including some Rutabaga to make some fries (recipe coming tomorrow) for lunch. I also made Pistachio Energy Bites, thanks to Ashley for sharing the recipe. It is Paleo friendly but it really is just a better alternative to store bought granola bars. Make them, you won’t regret it.

The rest of the night was more food prep, installing this new blog design. Shout out to 17th Avenue Designs for this awesome WordPress design, blogger templates are available too. *Note: I bought this theme with my own money, not a paid link.
How was your Weekend?
Linking up with Leeann from Join the Gossip and Biana from B Loved Boston.

I love nature too–I plan on being outside next weekend. How cute is Seamus? I just wanna hug him. And watch him squirm away! 😉
Hope it is as peaceful as it should be!! He is so adorable I can even help myself. He has been so needy lately too so I get extra snuggle time!
I saw that superman post on istagram and couldn’t help but laugh – people are so interesting!! I’m the same way about shopping – I love it, but hate wasting time LOL!! Love that you were able to feel inspired this weekend outside!! Happy Monday!
It was hilarious. It wasn’t just a hoodie it covered his whole face!! I couldn’t not laugh. Yes, if only we could all afford personal shoppers.
Looks like it was a great weekend. Great pictures.
Thank you. It was one for the books.
Sounds like a perfect weekend! Hope you have a great week!
Thank you it was perfect!
Your area is so much prettier than mine! If I lived there, maybe I would love hiking, too! I also dislike the process of shopping. It takes WAY too long but I do like ending up with stuff at the end of it…
It is really pretty with all the foliage. I love what I end up but it does take to long hopping from place to place.
so awesome!! nature makes everyone happy; how can it not??
Right?! It just breathes new life into you.
Nice to be in nature and feed your soul.
We had a glorious weekend, with my girls, at Sean’s soccer game, and my boys and everyone
involved with my Stephen’s bachelor party were all safe and sound and had a good time.
Safe and sound is literally music to my ears- cue the song!
We have a few days ahead of us in the 70’s. Midweek soccer game and school Halloween
parade on Friday for our Riley. Many years since I have been to one of them.
Carpe diem every day this week.
Love, SMD’s Momma
So glad everyone was safe and sound and looks like they won the game! It is so nice when the weather decides to cooperate. The Halloween parade should be so much fun! Enjoy!
sounds like a fabulous weekend, what gorgeous pictures! and spiderman, hilarious!! rutabaga fries, sounds yum! love the new look! oh and seamus in his halloween costume is so cute!
Thank you. It was really windy out but still very pretty. The fries are so much healthier than other kinds, and good too. Isn’t he just too cute for words. I am a little biased though.
I love Seamus’ Halloween costume!
Thank you. He kinda looks like a lion so it suited him! 😉
Looks like you had a great weekend. I have to admit I did not embrace nature at all this weekend. Will have to remedy that soon!
Yes! Anytime you want to come along let me know. Though I would really love a couch marathon session for a weekend.
Lots of quality time outdoors is always good for the soul.
I prefer to shop online but sometimes you just can’t.
It was so nice and needed but next weekend I may just stay in. I am exhausted! Haha! It was hard because I was looking for gifts and final Halloween costume touches. Online shopping is much preferred.
Your nature pics are so gorgeous! Being outside in the fall is the best. And I LOVE Seamus’s Halloween costume!
Thank you. It is so beautiful this time of year. He really eats up the attention. 🙂
The new trails look awesome and very picturesque.
I love shopping and buying things but Little K is always asking if we are done yet so I’ve learned to shorten my trips. 🙂
It was really pretty, though next time I would bring my bike for a better workout. Kids can be tricky to shop with they either get bored or want everything!!
Klay and I both AWWWWED when we saw the picture of Seamus on Instagram. He’s a cutie!
I love your hiking pictures! 🙂
And Rutabaga fries? Gimme gimme gimme!
Thank you. He was so not having it stay on, but he was cute with it on. They are so much healthier than even sweet potato fries
I definitely need some nature time, I love being in nature and not only become inspired but also uplifted. Your trails look wonderful and I want to be on it!
The fries look pretty darn good too. The granola looks time consuming but I bet it is worth it.
I keep talking about switching from Blogger but have yet to do it. I think I am nervous that it will be a lot of work.
It really does just improve your mood. The granola was actually really easy, 4 ingredients in a food processor, add water and put in the fridge to harder. So good too! I think it can be tricky at times but so worth it.
Looks like you have some really scenic places to go for walks or hikes. We have nothing like that around here. Sounds like a relaxing weekend!
There are a ton of places, some more challenging than others. You should check out your town’s website to see if they have a parks and rec page, maybe there is a hidden gem.
I love all your hiking pictures! So pretty!!! And your fries…..I have been thinking about them since seeing them on the gram this weekend! (The gram is a thing, right?!)
Seamus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So stinking cute!!!!! Have a great week!!!
Thank you! I wish it was like this year round. Give them a try girly! The gram is totally a thing! He is a little cutie, huh?!
Spiderman was getting gas? That’s how he gets around? Seems like he’s cheating.
Seamus is so cute in his costume!
I know it is kinda a let down. Then “Tobey Maguire” liked it on Instagram but I think it was a spammer.
Hey someone got a new design! Very nice 🙂 Love dressing dogs up for Halloween hehe
Thanks for linking up!
Thank you. It was easy to install too. He doesn’t like wearing it long but he sure is cute!
I hate shopping too! I love having new things but the actual process of shopping? Nope. I can’t stand sorting through racks, holding hangers all over my arms. I loathe trying things on. I just don’t like it. I would much prefer online shopping but my body is weird (long torso requires M or L, but tiny chest and waist requires XS or S. EVERYTHING has to be tried on)
Yes, I love new things but the process is so time consuming. Girl you could wear a paper sack and look good, but I feel your pain! I got the boobs and booty to contend with so I get it.
I don’t know if I’ve ever tried a rutabaga! What do they taste like???
I love your new layout girl!!! 😀
Thank you. When they are baked like this they really taste like a normal potato.
Seamus is too cute in his Halloween costume! Love all your hiking photos!
Thank you he really likes to Ham it up. I am so sad hiking season is almost over.
Gorgeous photos!! Love Seamus in his cute costume!!
Thank you. He really isn’t a fan but he indulges me.
