Well I actually have work off today for the holiday so the relaxing will continue, actually more like cleaning my house and doing chores like a madwoman but details details. We got another 16 inches of snow, but luckily it wasn’t as heavy so it wasn’t so bad. I did have a lot of avalanches when I tried to plow though which made it a little harder. I hear more snow is coming on Tuesday, I just give up.
I wanted to get a lot of chores out of the way before the snow started so I went to the pet store, Lowe’s, grocery shopping, and the gas station. I felt so good about getting everything done I decided to vacuum the downstairs.
As I was bringing the vacuum down the stairs I tripped down the last few steps. I have lived in my house just two weeks shy of five years and fell down my stairs a total of two times, both times happened in the last four months. What is up with my balance?! The socks didn’t help the matter.
Since Seamus woke me up everyday at 4:45am I took a nap once or twice a day.
After two hours of plowing snow on Sunday I just wanted to get warm so I got some hot chocolate and my book and bunkered down. I did fall asleep at one point.
For Valentine’s I popped some Champagne and watched some love stories including Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Legends of the Fall, and Gentleman Prefer Blondes. The classics!
Sorry for the foot picture but seriously it was so bruised and swollen I couldn’t help it. The bruising actually goes around to the bottom of my toe too. Also had some bruising on my shin. Such a klutz.
How was your weekend?
Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston.
Nadine says
Ahhh Seamus winking is the cutest thing ever!!! And girl your foot 🙁 I hope that you get to feeling better, that is just awful!!! We don’t bounce back from a fall like we used to, do we? I slid in on the tile flood in our bathroom a few months ago and fell on my right side and it was sore and bruised for weeks.
Sounds like you had a great weekend, minus all the snow. That is a lot! Have a great day off!
Kerry says
Thank you. The swelling has come down which is good. We certainly don’t bounce back as fast. We are expected more snow tomorrow, so over it already.
Kelly says
Oh, you poor thing! Rest up. You watched some good ones. I started Funny Face, but switched over to Dexter, since I was in a great season and wanted to finish. Stay warm and have a great week!
Kerry says
I have resting a lot today. 😉 I don’t think I’ve seen Funny Face. Dexter is really good, so sad it’s over. Hope you are staying warm too, it’s brutally cold today.
Linda sheridan says
Ugh on the fall. It’s the socks.
Snow go away. Now. And take the cold with you. Glad you can stay home today.
Warm thoughts!
Love, SMD’s Momma
Kerry says
I have these no-slip thread strips that I need to put on, think I need to get on it. This Winter has been rough, hopefully it warms up soon to melt it all away!
Biana @ Blovedboston says
Oh my gosh – how is your foot doing today? I can’t even believe how much snow we have gotten, but I was watching the news and it’s not even the snowiest winter – that was in 95 and i really hope we dont beat it lol!! Hope you enjoy your day off today and try to have some “me” time without all the chores!! xo, Biana
Kerry says
The swelling has gone down but it still hurts to put pressure on it. I am really hoping that is a record we don’t break though snow expected for tomorrow. 🙁 I spent most of the morning just reading. Hehe. Lazy for the win!
tori says
Your poor toe! Feel better =( Sounds like a fantastic Valentine’s evening though….movies and champagne=perfect. As always I love me some Seamus pics!
Kerry says
Thank you. It was a good night. Champagne makes everything better. 😉 He is just so precious, i can’t help take a few hundred pictures of him. Hehe.
Stephanie says
Awww Seamus winking! So cute!
omg your poor foot, that looks terrible. Good thing you have today to rest it again!
Kerry says
That was like the most perfect timed shot. He looked so adorable. I have been resting for sure, totally being lazy! Hehe.
Nichole says
Your poor foot! I am clumsy too and glad we don’t have stairs in our home, lol. I hope it heals quickly and that it stops snowing…jeez!
Kerry says
I swear I was never this clumsy before but I am slowly becoming very clumsy. 🙁 Old lady problems! Haha! I would pay for it to stop snowing!!
Kelli says
Ahh your poor foot, you must have really fallen hard. UGH!
Are you ready to move to the beach yet? It’s cold cold cold here but we don’t have snow. 🙂
Kerry says
It was rough and the vacuum landed on my shin. I am so ready to be in the warm, some where with a beach and 70 degrees.
Brianne Bracco says
O-M-G!!! Your foot!! I am almost in tears just looking at it! I’m so sorry that happened friend and glad it wasn’t any worse. You need to fly away someplace warm with a beach and put a drink in your hand, stat! haha
Kerry says
Thank you. I am so glad I didn’t break anything. That sounds like heaven, I couldn’t agree more.
Ashley says
Oh my goodness! Sorry about your fall! Glad it wasn’t worse. 🙁 Love Seamus’ wink and smile! So sweet! Mara is the only one that will let me hold her like a baby. I don’t know how you do it with all the snow. I’m so ready for Spring I can’t stand it!
Kerry says
Thanks, I am very lucky it wasn’t worse. He doesn’t let me do it often since he doesn’t like to be on his back so I cherish it when I can. Oh I can’t stand the snow, I am so over it and ready for the warm.
SMD @ Life According to Steph says
UGGGHHH your foot! That sucks. I hate when injuries I sustain are my fault. I hope you’re tip top soon.
I love love love the Seamus winking photo.
Kerry says
Seriously I only have myself to blame. I have non-slip tread strips that have been sitting on my steps waiting to be put down. Ugh! Stupid me.
He was so adorable this weekend. Such a good cuddle buddy.
Carly Blogs Here says
All that snow! I can’t even begin to imagine– and your foot 🙁 I hope the swelling goes down soon and it isn’t too painful! Hopefully the extra day off will give you time to rest it up a little bit more. It sounds like you had the perfect cozy weekend!
Kerry says
It is so much it just kept falling down when I tried to shovel it. The swelling has gone down even if it is still sore. It was perfectly cozy and I am enjoying the extra day off.
Bri @ My Life As... says
I love the one of Seamus winking haha. I have actually never seen a single one of those movies. Everyone talking about all the snow is making me happy I moved down south. 16 inches? No thank you!
Kerry says
Girl you must, they are classics! Legends of the Fall has Brad Pitt in all his glory. I would be happy to live somewhere warm right about now.
Stacia says
I’m amazed that your toes isn’t broken with how bad it looks! I hope it feels better soon! We were supposed to get snow today, but instead we just got rain. I’m still hoping for one snow day before winter is over.
Kerry says
I was worried about it being broken, but it seemed to be okay. Just bruised and sore. Rain is so much better than snow.
chelsea jacobs says
That winking picture is so cute!!
Kerry says
Thank you. It was perfect timing. He is just so precious.
Amber says
Ouch, I’m sorry about your toe.
Blah snow. We just got some ice.
Kerry says
Thanks. It was not fun. The snow is never ending. I am so ready for Spring, and for this snow to melt.
Jana @ Jana Says says
OW!!!! Hope your toe feels better soon!
4:45? That’s way too early. My dogs know better.
Also, I always feel the need to get gas right before a big snowstorm, too. I’m okay without the milk and stuff but I need to have gas. Like if I’m snowed in for days and can’t get anywhere a full tank will help?
Kerry says
Yes, I like to get gas in case the power goes out you can use the car for heat and/or charge devices. Plus if the power goes out so does the gas pumps.
Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis says
oh wow! Look at that winter wonderland! Your poor toe…it looks so painful! I have the worst balance ever so I feel your pain. Hope it heels up soon!
Kerry says
It is a frozen tundra! Haha! It is so sore, but it is better than yesterday!
Kim says
Oh, no – sorry about your ankle and foot – looks painful!!! I hope you propped it up a lot – good that you had champagne to help!!
Those icicles are huge.
Kerry says
It really hurt at first but it’s getting better! The champagne totally helped! 😉
Jodi says
You need to train that dog to sleep in! Your toe – ouch!!!!! I hate snow. So over it. Thank God it came on a weekend for once!
Kerry says
I know, it is awful! I am so over this snow, I am really looking forward to it melting!
Heather (@mylittlehea) says
So so soooo cute Seamus! Sorry to hear about your toe and balance, hope it doesn’t give you too much hassle. Definitely looking up that book, did you like it?
Kerry says
He is, my little bug. Thanks, I hope it gets better soon. I hate not being able to workout. It was just Meh for me. I got it from the book linkup and I was expected it to be better but the main character was a little ridiculous. It wasn’t terrible though.
kristen says
awww seriously Seamus is so adorable. my littlest kitten lets me hold her like a baby sometimes haha i love it.
so not envious of your snow – we had like 6 inches and work got called off, it was awesome. but i’m back at work today, womp womp. it is supposed to snow tonight / early tomorrow morning as well, jeepers. seriously is it spring yet?!
you poor thing falling down the stairs! what the heck! i am pretty clumsy and have broken my toe a few times and it’s looked like that, so i feel your pain – but mine is normally stupid and i walked into something like the bed or table haha. hope it feels better soon! and yum, hot chocolate!
Kerry says
Snow days are the best when you don’t have to shovel! Ha! It is snowing today supposed to be 5-8 inches. I am just so over it at this point. I feel like such a klutz, I mean twice in the past few months, and never before in 4 years. So weird. I have those non-skid strips too just sitting on the stairs waiting to be put down for like months. Stupid me. It did force me to just relax all weekend though. 😉
Lara says
Did you ever you’d say, “We got 16 inches of snow but it wasn’t too bad”? lol. Hope your foot heals quickly!
Kerry says
Haha! Yes. I mean at this point after 7 feet, 16″ seems like small potatoes. Thank you so much, the swelling has gone down at least! Stay warm down there.
Caitlin says
sorry about your foot!!! Your weekend sounds mighty relaxing to me. I know all you east coastish people are sick of snow but I really wish we had some, I LOVE being inside when it’s snowy out. One of my favorite things in the world.
Seamus is a doll! What a good valentine.
Kerry says
Thank you. It was very relaxing. You can totally have some of our snow!! It’s nice when you can stay inside, but having to shovel and drive in it can be brutal. I love snow days in though.
jackie says
so.over.snow. and i know you guys have way more ugh – hope you’re staying warm! and hope your foot/shin heals up fast too. dying over that winking photo of seamus!
Kerry says
It has been a brutal Winter. Hopefully that means Summer will be long too?! That is a favorite of mine too!
Kay R. says
Oh no girl I hope your foot is feeling better!!! Sighs that looks brutal seriously! Anyhoo stay warm in the crazy weather 🙂
Kerry says
Thanks! I seems to be worse than I thought, but not much I can do but let it heal.
Amanda says
What a fun way to spend Valentine’s Day! Sometimes there’s nothing like booze and some romantic movies! 😀
Kerry says
Booze and movies is always a win! 😉
