It is Wednesday as I am writing this and it has been a rough week so I am bring you a whole bunch of random things.
1. I am currently reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed. I totally admire people who really test their inner strength. Jack Kerouac’s On The Road is my favorite book so this should be no surprise. I totally am inspired by her journey, and began to ponder if I could do it. Three months of hiking and backpacking, I’m kind of game for it. Though I would have to be debt free and able to put life on hold. Might not be possible. So I might challenge myself to hike 5 mountain over 5k feet this summer instead.

3. Some items I am loving: I think I got this as a Sephora extra or during the VIB sale, I can’t remember but I love it. It is helping with the dry skin on my face this Winter. It is a little pricey at $18.50 for the 0.5 oz size but the 0.16 oz size I got has lasted a few months now and is still 3/4 full. You don’t use a lot.

I believe I got this one from Kathy for Christmas or from an old Ipsy bag. It is so light weight but really adds shine and keeps frizz in check. Again I have had it for months and not even 1/2 gone. It also has a nice light lemongrass scent to it. I have the .5 oz size but Amazon sells the 1 oz size. I will be repurchasing once I am out. Love this product. I use it on wet hair to protect, and on dry hair as a serum. *Not an affiliate link, I just really like it, so sharing.

4. I have 42 e-books downloaded and unread, with 3 books checked out of the library. Can you say anxiety. I want a weeks vacation in a B&B to just read all day and get caught up. I have a follow-up book to Blue Jeans and Coffee Beans by Joanne DeMaio to read and she will be making a Blog Hop Stop on my blog this month to feature her new book. So excited! Read my review of the first book here. So grateful for NetGalley, BookBub, and my library for supporting my habit.
5. Speaking of books, Heather over at My Little HEA is having her 30th birthday today and she is have a $175 paypal cash giveaway to celebrate. Head over and wish her a happy birthday and enter till your heart is content or your pockets are full.

I love that goal! I want to travel full time. I can’t now, but I can maximize long weekends. 🙂 Everyone has a starting point and we make do with what we have at the time. I enjoyed Wild too. Some scenes are difficult, but overall, I liked it. Happy Thursday!
Long weekends hep for local excursions. It is really good so far, I’m about halfway through. Happy Thursday.
Girl it has been a week…I swear it wont end lol!! So happy to hear you are getting the acknowledgement you deserve at work!!! I’d have anxiety with so many books unread too…good thing the weather has been yucky lol! xo, Biana
It sure feel that way. It is nice to at least be recognized once in a while. Thanks! It is giving me major anxiety. That is why I have been reading so much lately trying to get the number down, but then I add more. Womp womp. The weather gives me a good excuse to stay in and read.
i love that ingredient in your serum. it’s good stuff. i know it hekps that winter skin. i have 5 or so unread books. when i’m visiting my dad this week (i think you’ve read about that) i will catch up!
It works really well. I am glad you are going down to spend time with him. The number of unread books always makes me anxious. Hopefully I get caught up soon.
Congrats on killing it at work this week! Sorry it’s been stressful, it’s almost over!
Thanks! It has been eye opening in a good way. So close to Friday! Woohoo!
I’ll definitely keep you company on some training hikes!!
Yes, you will have to come and keep me company!
that wasn’t from me but i wish it was!!! anything argan oil is my jam 🙂
you can totally do that hike!!!!!!!
Girl you would love it, it is so good and doesn’t leave my hair greasy. Thanks! I am a little worried but I really want to do some more challenging hikes this year.
If I had no debt I’d be gone in a heart beat. I have no man, no kids, no pets. As of June 1 I don’t have a lease on my current place & as of July 10 I no longer have a job. Of course I do have debt so I need to solve the last 2 fairly soon… I love the mountain goal!
Well you are closer to that goal than I am! It would be such a fun adventure!
you read such good books…I wish I was in a book club with you!! lets start our own haaaa
Thank you!! We should start one!
On the Road is one of my favorites too. I pulled it off my shelf several weeks ago as I have not read it in a long time and it is still sitting at my bedside table. I need to force myself to put down the technology and read at night. Hope your week is getting better!
It is such a great book and really got me thinking. I need to re-read it soon! We are closer to Friday so there is that! 😉
That is a great goal and way more adventurous than I’ll ever be!
I need to use my NetGalley membership more than I do. It’s shameful that I pass up free books.
Thanks! I love hiking when the weather is warm, and it’s a great workout. Say what?! You are not using it?! So many great books on there and I love finding some newer authors on there too.
Extremely nice being recognized for a job well done. Congrats.
I would move my whole life to the Gulf coast of Florida if I could. I would NEVER miss
winter or cold. Best case scenario is to be able to beam yourself and your life where it suits you best.
Looking out my window and seeing snow weighing heavy on electrical lines and frigid temps is not a good
thing. I am happy all of my chickens are home safe and sound. Working from home is the best thing ever,
especially in this weather.
Love SMD’s Momma
I would love to be able to transport to where ever we wanted. I would be in Texas if my family wasn’t in Massachusetts. Warm weather suits me better. Glad you are safe and not out in the snow.
Congrats on getting acknowledged at work!! That’s always a great feeling. And 42 ebooks!! That can keep you occupied for a while! Awesome giveaway too 😉
Thank you. It was so nice to hear and get validation. It will certainly take me awhile to get through them all!
Congrats on the work front! And my goodness that is a lot of books to read, my friend!! I would be feeling anxious too!
Thank you! It does make me anxious but also excited to read them all too.
I loved the book, Wild. And the movie was actually very good as well.
I am so glad you liked the movie, I want to go see it once I finish the book. It is such an inspiring book.
Hope things are looking up for you…it’s almost Friday! xoxo
They are thank you. It was a good week.
I have heard such good things about Wild! I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
It is really inspiring, such grit and determination she had.
I’ve wanted that oil so bad– but have never really heard much about it and was kind of relieved because it’s so pricey, buuuut after hearing this good review, I’m tempted to try it out! You know I’m the same way on having so many books to read but still adding more to my shelf! What is Bookbub?! I don’t think I’ve heard of that, and whaaat you’re having an author on your blog?! That’s amazing!
Both oils I have been using for months and love them both. They are a little pricey but they last a long time. Ooohhh BookBub is a website for free or discount ebooks. You sign up and select your genres and they email you daily with a list of ebooks that are $2.99 or under on Amazon or other online retailers. I have gotten a lot of free ebooks or ones for $0.99.
Yes, I read a book of hers which I really liked a lot and sh is coming out with a new book and so she reached out to me. So very excited.
I don’t even count how many books I still have unread on my Nook – it just makes me happy to know that I can finish one book and move right on to another.
I do love knowing I will never be without a book! Good point!
Why do all the library books seem to come available ALL AT ONCE!?! I had a bunch on hold (that I placed on hold at totally different times) and they ALL came available at once! I CAN’T READ THAT FAST! haha! Thanks os much for linking up, lovely!
It always happens!! It’s like a race to finish them all in time! Ugh! Haha!
good for you for getting recognised at work for all your hard work! that is always a great feeling!
i feel you on the can i just have a week off to read all the books? lol
absolutely checking out that hair oil stuff! everything i have tried for frizz seems to weigh my hair down because it’s so light and fine but this looks great!
Thank you. It couldn’t have come at a better time. If only we could just read books for a living! It is really good and much lighter than smoothing serums I’ve used before.
That hair oil looks amazing!! I love anything with argan oil for hair 🙂
It works really well without weighing my hair down.
As much as work sucks … compliments for a job well done cant be beat! Girl the struggle of the million and one unread books continues. I guess its a better problem to have than no books to read! 😀
It was really nice to get recognized. If only I would stop adding more books!! I have 417 on my to-read list! I do like always having a book to read though.
I think I have that Fresh seaberry stuff, too! I’ll have to look… it looks familiar. I throw my samples in a drawer and forget about them half the time – I LOVE HOARDING THEM! lol
It is so good, and my face was so dry this Winter. Use it!!!
