I am a huge fan of Halloween always have been even though I don’t have a lot of pictures to prove it. I have been decorating my Dad’s house even when I haven’t lived there in about a dozen years. The kids get so excited when I open the door and I am dressed up, so who am I to tell them no. Some have even asked to take pictures. I always try and DIY my own costumes and this year will be no different.
When Heather posted about doing a Throw Back Thursday Holiday edition I knew I had to join in. It is my favorite holiday after all. So here are a few of me back in the day.

What the heck was with the plastic costumes.

Then I stole my sisters costume. Man we were so original. Can we check out those stylin’ cabinets. Woah baby.
This was 2011 and 2012 as Day of the Day – Sugar Skull.
Last year queen of hearts
I have everything I need for this year, so I am excited to see how it comes together.
Are you dressing up this year?
Are you making your costume or buying it?
I love all the throw back pictures! Halloween is always a fun holiday. Some of the costumes I look back on over the years crack me up. How did we not die in all that plastic?!
Thank you! They were so cheap and the plastic. I can’t handle it! Too funny. All we cared about was the candy though.
We definitely reused costumes with all three of us, especially if it was gender neutral! I love the bugs bunny costume and your queen of hearts looks so great! So does your face painting for the Day of the Dead character!
Yes, there was 3 of us too. They got some use for sure. The day of the dead got itchy but it was really fun.
Nice! Not big on dressing up. We always reused costumes when I was growing up. My mom was not crafty at all
and money was always tight. Can’t wait to see your costume this year. Friday night Halloween should be fun.
Sending lights and angels already for everyone to have a safe, fun, happy night.
#bootoyou Love, SMD’s Momma
They were really expensive especially just for one day of fun. I love that it is on a Friday this year.
I try to dress up every year – last few years I was a Pink Lady – just a super easy look.
This year I was going to do a Masquerade Look – but, it’s looking like I’m going to do it on my own – at home.
Klay is going to be a zombie (for the second year) and Emry will be the infected zombie hunter. It’s good stuff!!!
Pink lady is cute! Ohhh that should be fun, takes lots of pictures!
haha i love this so much! the batman dude – his parents were all “no way in hell i’m going to get you another costume when there’s a perfectly good one already!!” <– those were my parents too!!
That is my brother and sister! Haha! Yeah I think he was all for it since he was so into super heroes but still I think my parents were like Hells to the No on a new costume.
We always dress up! I am phoning it in this year but MFD’s costume rocks.
Woohoo! You really must text me a picture ASAP on Halloween! Must see!
The queen of hearts costume was amazing!!! We reused costumes too – my cousin and I would always swap!! Can’t wait to see what you are going to be this year!!
That one was so much fun though the skirt kept getting tangled. Hey you gotta do what you gotta do, those things were expensive.
I don’t dress up and I don’t get to have trick or treater’s anymore, I am out taking a little person trick or treating.
I hated those plastic costumes and their masks with holes you could barely see out of.
Yeah, when you have young kids it is harder. You couldn’t see or breathe, half the time it was on my head.
I love how into it you are! I haven’t dressed up for Halloween since… high school, I guess? I would rather celebrate my birthday instead. Halloween scrooge, right here! But you more than make up for it with your awesome costumes!
You totally have an excuse to be an scrooge. Halloween stole your thunder. Thank you, friend!
I am not into the dressing up thing. I have a great idea for a couples costume should we ever go somewhere that requires it but thus far, we haven’t.
I love all the pictures!!! It’s weird but I have no recollection of any Halloween costumes I wore as a kid. My middle sister doesn’t, either. But I do remember all the plastic ones other kids wore. We kept it classy back then!
It is so fun for me, but I totally understand. If it wasn’t for the pictures I think I wouldn’t have remembered either. Those plastic ones were so hard to breathe in.
You were adorable! Can’t wait to see what you come up with this year!
Thank you. I am so excited and just hoping it comes out ok.
I remember I LOVED when I trick or treated and people were dressed up! I can’t wait to move into a house – mostly just so trick or treaters will come by!
It is so fun to see them get all excited. Are you house hunting?
WHHHYYYY were those plastic costumes so popular? I know you understand the childhood pain of having to wear a coat with your costume because it was too cold without. Coat plus plastic costume = humid sweaty kid. 🙂
Yes you understand my pain!! It would get so sweaty and gross!
awwww how cute are you as a witch, you look happier than your sister did, lol. love your queen of hearts, so fancy!
I was much more of a Halloween fan than she was, for sure! That one was really fun! I swore no more makeup costumes but that’s very unlikely.
such fun costumes!!
Thank you, I love dressing up.
Love all the pictures!!! So fab!!
Thank you. I love getting all dressed up.
You’ve done some badass makeup the last few years! Very cool. Does it stay on well?
It actually does, I very rarely have to touch it up. This year’s makeup is going to be something I have never done so it will be interesting to see if it comes out right.
Your Queen of Hearts costume from last year was SO epic! I can’t wait to see what you do this year!
Thank you. That was a fun one. This year will be tricky but hopefully it works.
I’m being a slutty administrative assistant. No costume required. 😉
Queen of Hearts and Sugar Skull are bad ass, girl!
You could totally pull that off. I loved both of those but this year will be a little different.
Not gonna lie: the queen of hearts is a little scary. Ha! I am the worst at costumes. I don’t plan on dressing up this year.
Haha! My friends daughter actually asked for non-scary and that was my costume. It’s scary?! What about a librarian. Top knot, glasses and button down cardigan! Boom.
These are all awesome! I think the queen of hearts is my favorite though- looove your makeup and costume!
Thank you. That was one of my favorites too.
Fun! I have three different parties to go to, so I’ll be dressing up. I have multiple ideas for costumes… Lots to put together in a week with a new pup 😛
Yikes! That is a lot. Hope you figure out you costume!
