I had a very busy week last week and I haven’t had a free weekend in a long time so I was very excited to do nothing. Well nothing according to my normal weekends. I mean it’s me we are talking about here. I also had Good Friday off from work and so there is a lot to cover. Let’s go!
Thursday: I got to meet up with Maddie from The Whimsy One since she was in town visiting family. Her Sister-In-Law came with her and got quite the inside look into blogging. Hopefully we didn’t bore her too much. We are a fascinating bunch though. She got me this really cute frame wipe board and chocolate. 🙂
Friday: I took Seamus for a walk early in the morning so that I could get back in time to meet the Insurance Adjuster since the damage to my basement still hasn’t been touched.
Call me a touch mad about this, I want my house back dang it. My half-bath especially. Once he left I went out for a hike. I luckily didn’t see any more snakes.
I tried to read a few blogs and comment but I was a touch behind. Trying to play catch up though. I then had to get ready for a Beer Tasting hosted by Emily but Jody and Allena from the last Sip Happens were also there. Aside from a $40 parking ticket (did I mention I hate driving and parking in Boston) the party was such fun. It was a fun group of girls and lots of laughs. I didn’t get many pictures since I was too busy laughing and having fun.
Saturday: I did some cleaning around the house, did some yard work. I still need to get some soil and plant some grass and flowers. It will continue in a few weeks. I then took Seamus for a really long walk to try and tire him out.
I have noticed that will all these walks the fatty tumors I was worried about before seem to have shrunk a bit. I then got a few movies from RedBox and made it a quiet night in with Homefront with Jason Statham. I mean holy yum. I may have fell asleep during The Counselor, so weird and not a great movie.
Sunday: I woke up really early, thank you Seamus. He was a little too hyper so I took him for another long walk. I do love getting to explore my city on these long walks but really the best part is walking by the lakes. I am almost at the half way point for the 50 Miles in April Challenge.
There are two different lakes within 1/2 mile from my house and the water was glistening and it was perfect weather. Really my idea of heaven! After grocery shopping I made some Cheesy Corn and Zucchini dish which I will be sharing the recipe for tomorrow. I also made some more eggplant Parmesan for this week, and Spanakopita. Once I test it out a little more I will share the recipe.
I may have enjoyed one of two of these too while I was cooking. They are so good and the Mango version is my next one to try.
This is one of the really old trees in the park by my house that I walked through with Seamus and I thought it was perfect for the nature prompt for Picture Practice.
How was your weekend? Fellow Bostonians are you off for Marathon Monday?

i’m glad that long walks are helping seamus and the fatty tumours. is it just that he needs more exercise? i want to join that sip party so move that to toronto please thanks 😉
I don’t think they will ever go away but if I can get his weight down they won’t be as big. They are really fun!
you always have a such a fun and jam-packed weekend. i was a total slacker and didn’t do anything on my list. but in my defense, i’m with this nasty sinus infection
Being sick totally warrants a lazy weekend! I think I forget how to relax!! Or I just am always behind on my todo lists! 🙂
So many great things thins weekend & totally agree that parking in Boston is 0 fun – hence why I don’t own a car haha!! Way to go on your 50 mile challenge – so awesome!! I’m excited to be working from home today due to Marathon Monday!!
It was hectic for sure but fun. Haha! I wouldn’t either if I lived in Boston, no fun. Happy Marathon Monday better working from home than fighting traffic.
What a weekend girl! It sounds super fun and jam packed though. I also did not like “The Counselor”. I made it about 20 minutes in and turned it off. I thought it was going to be good but it wasn’t. I am glad Seamus’s tumors are going down. Since Spring is finally coming hopefully you guys can go walking alot. I can’t wait for that zucchini cheesy corn thing recipe LOL. You had me drooling on Instagram. Also, I text my step mom and asked her if she and my dad ate eggplant. I am going to stay with them and make your eggplant Parmesan if they do. Love u girl!
It was super fun and pretty exhausting but that happens when I haven’t had a weekend home in a long time. Haha! It was such a horrible movie. Yes, we will be going out a lot now that it is nice. I had it today too and it was so good. Ohhh I hope you get to make it, you’ll have to let me know if you do.
Your not busy weekend sound like a super busy weekend to me! I was wondering about your half bathroom – get ON IT insurance people, ick, so miserable! Yay for girl time (boo for tickets), the spanakopita looks deeeeeelightful, and I love huge trees like that!
Haha! I don’t know how to really rest. 😉 Ugh so tired of waiting for it to get done. I can’t wait to share it, my favorite! They are so pretty when you can tell age and time changed them.
That is great news that the walks are helping shrink the fatty tumors on Seamus! The spanakopita looks sooo yummy! And you’ve convinced me to try those margaritas in a can 🙂

Thank you! He really needed the exercise after this winter so it was a bonus. Spanakopita is so good so I’m glad to have a way to make it at home! Those drinks are so you’ll love it.
Mangoritas are to die for! Definitely try it ASAP! 🙂
Okay now I really have to try them! Thanks!!
I love spanakopita. Love love love.
Walking by the lakes looks wonderful. I should take the dogs to the river next week. It’s pretty cool down there, lots to look at while you’re walking. And it’s close to home!
Love your nature pic. Old trees are awesome.
It is so good! Making it at home might be deadly. You should, just hearing the sound of the water always puts me in a good mood!
That’s wonderful about Seamus!!! Tickets stink, but glad you still had fun with the girls. I would be so frustrated the bathroom hadn’t been fixed yet too! I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of the Counselor, so it’s good to hear I’m not missing anything! Congrats on being almost half way done. I need to check my mileage, lol.
It was a blast! They really need to get on it!! It was just weird and horrible. Haha! I am so worried i won’t make it since I started so late but hopefully I can squeeze in some major mileage this week.
A pleasingly rational answer. Good to hear from you.
I haven’t blogged in almost a week. I’m behind too!! Can’t wait to see your spanikopita recipe. 🙂
I know, where you been?! Haha! I am so excited for that one since it one of my most favorite recipes and I couldn’t find any at the grocery store last week.
The beer tasting party sounds fun! Sorry to hear about the parking ticket…that’s never fun! Overall, looks like you had a pretty busy weekend!
It was such a great time and great to find new beers I actually liked.
I love love love love spanakopita, so I can’t wait to see your recipe. And trust me, I hear you on driving in Boston. It’s one of the few things I hated about that city – that and parking haha
Isn’t it the best?! Ugh it is the worst part about the city but I still had a great time.
What the perfect weekend! So glad you had a great time and I can not wait for that new recipe!!!
Thank you. It was a much needed long weekend!
OH nooo razberitas….my stomach can’t do them anymore but they are sooo tasty
Why not?! They are so good! They will be my summer go to for sure.
So glad to hear there were no more snake incidents! A beer tasting party is way up my alley. Sounds like a fun weekend!
It was so fun trying new ones and since it was a tasting you didn’t waste too much if you didn’t like it.
I love how your quiet weekends are 100x busier than my crazy weekends lol!
I’m jealous of your latest meetup – you ladies are so fun!
Thanks for linking up for MMG 🙂
Haha! There was some lazy moments too, I mean two movies back to back was a lot of sitting. I get up really early too. It is so fun to meet up with local bloggers.
Mmmm that spanikopita looks phenomenal – can’t wait for the recipe!
I love Spanakopita so I was so excited to finally try it at home.
Cheesy corn and zucchini?! Can’t wait to see/read!!!! Yummo!!!
I can’t believe they still haven’t done anything about hour basement. I’m a touch mad FOR you!
You know it! It is making me want to rage. I want my gym in the basement back. I am too afraid to use it and it is clutter with stuff I had to move around. 🙁
I seriously need to get me a fitbit! Everyone i know raves about them!
I love mine and I have a Garmin too that I think is more accurate but the fitbit is a good motivator!
look at you walking all over the dang place!! I hope your house is all better in no time!!!
It has been amazing weather to get out and enjoy it. I hope so, I want my house back.
The sip happens parties seem like so much fun and that spanakopita looks delish!
It is so fun and a great excuse to just get together and have a bunch of laughs!! Thanks, I am so excited to share the recipe.
So jealous you got to meet Maddy! It just was bad timing here 🙁
I know, we were sad you couldn’t make it but completely understood.
i can’t believe you made spanakopita! it looks incredible!!
It is so good, one of my favorite dishes and I haven’t been able to find it in stores so figured it was about time to make my own. Thank you.
Tired pups make for happy mamas 😉
Yes, and when he starts snoring after it makes for pure entertainment.
We had so much fun. If I move there, we will be trouble. I would have a car so you will never be rid of me. hahahaha and dang. I found the mango and rasperry ones yesterday…too bad it was 5 am at a stop at 7 11 on our way home. I wanted to buy them anyways.haha
I got a 6 pack of both, so freaking good!! We would be trouble but so fun!!
