I figured I would tell you about my trip to Maine, since this weekend was mostly spent trying to get caught up with the usual stuff like an oil change, trip to Walmart, the bank, reading, cleaning etc. It really is more interesting.
I will try and spare you with too much detail and just share all the pictures. I will say that most of our time was spent either sitting in the side yard, shopping or walking on the beach. It was very relaxing. I also got up no later than 6am sometimes earlier so I took a lot of sunrise pictures.
Some details:
Stayed in Tenants Harbor/ Martinsville it is about 30 minutes from Camden, Rockland and Rockport
Drove up on Saturday morning and left Wednesday morning
The cabin didn’t have a shower so we had to wash our hair outside and sponge bath everyday
There was a total of 7 adults and 3 kids on this trip split between two cottages
The Town:

I took a ton of pictures but I didn’t want to display the obscene number of similar pictures I took. I mean the sunsets and sunrises were unreal. I love Maine because I could totally see myself living that life. Beach life, surrounded by trees and just being in nature is so important to me.
I like waking to the sound of the birds, the sound of the waves and the crispness of the air. It was perfect. It is always nice to spend time with family too. We got to just spend time together which is hard to do when we are all spread out.
Do you have a favorite vacation spot?
Are you a cabin in the woods or 5 star hotel person?
Linking up with Leeann from Join the Gossip and Biana from B Loved Boston.

I love all the photos – especially the sunset photos!! Looks like it was a great relaxing trip!! xo
Thank you. They were so pretty and so many colors. I would love to still be there! 😉
I need the comforts of my own home! I adore
Hearing the surf and living near the ocean !
Sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous.
Glad you had a nice time!
Love SMD’s momma
It is so perfect to wake to the sounds of the ocean. It was perfectly relaxing. Hope you have a great week.
loved seeing your pics on IG! so relaxing just looking at them. haven’t been to maine in YEARS>
Thank you. It was so relaxing. That just means you need to plan a trip! 😉
I would love Maine, but the winter there scares me! It looks like you had a great weekend though!
The Winter is rough but all the other seasons are pretty amazing.
Northern beach life seems less beachy than beach life where I live, lol. Maybe it’s the heat here?! Gah…looks like a great trip!
Less beachy? It was such a great trip and just nice to be away.
oh my gosh, i love all the pictures! feel free to share more. i love the beaches, it looks so beautiful! and the bathroom reading lol gotta have it 😉
Thank you. I am so much more at home near the water. It was too funny, it looked like the book had been there for awhile.
I love all your photos! I’m dying to get to Maine! xo
Thank you. It is so pretty there and you should totally try to make a visit there.
No shower?! lol I just couldn’t get past that as I looked at the rest of your post and beautiful photos.
So what all did you do there? Just hang out and relax or is there a lot to do there?
Haha! I know that was tough. We went into town each day for a picnic, or shopping but mostly we just sat in chairs talking, soaking up rays, walking the beach or napping. We did do a obstacle course color run for the kids one day. The towns of Camden, Rockport and Portland have a lot of shops and places to go but we didn’t want to be too busy. It was more about relaxing and being together.
sounds like a lovely weekend! my sister is there now for another week.
i dont mind a cabin in the woods if there’s a running washroom. this 38yr old hag is too old to be outhousing it!
It was lovely. What part is she in? Yes! It had indoor plumbing otherwise I may have had to reconsider. The full stove and fridge made it easier too.
Beautiful photos, it sounds fabulous!
I can do a cabin if there’s a shower and toilet!
Thank you. it was amazing. That is like the perfect life for me. One day I shall live oceanfront.
THOSE SUNRISES! AMAZING!
Just love it!
I hope you had an amazing time!
Thank you. It was wonderful. The sunrise was the best part of everyday.
I’ve never been to Maine, but I can hear the birds just looking at your pictures. What a gorgeous place to lie on the beach and watch the sunrise.
It was so perfect and just being in a place so close to the water is amazing. Thank you.
These pics are amazing! I have always wanted to go to Maine and I am hoping on planning a trip for the fall. I might have to bother you for some info!
Sure thing. It is so pretty up there you really can’t go wrong.
NO SHOWER? I couldn’t survive, ha! I am definitely a five star hotel person… there is no roughing it when I’m around!
Haha! It was a little rough but since everyone else was dirty too I didn’t feel as gross.
Looks nice and relaxing with those serene views!
It was so peaceful. The view was amazing. We were right on the water and the steps to the beach was right outside our door.
Something about Maine seems so magical to me! I’m definitely more of a hotel kind of a girl, but I love all of your boat/beach/nature pictures!
It really is magical. I really like being able to shower but it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would since everyone else couldn’t either.
This looks like you were having a fabolous time! I love the pictures!
Feel free to link up this awesome post “Weekend Recap LinkUp” for a chance to get featured on Friday!
It’s a brand new linkup I started hosting, so please spread the word! I appreciate it 🙂

It was a great time. Thank you.
SO jealous I freaking LOVE Maine!!! beautiful pix!
Maine is amazing. It is so peaceful and so many cute places to shop too. Thank you!
I’ve never been to Maine. It looks so pretty!
It really is so pretty and being right on the water was amazing.
I always take tons of pictures of the same thing too, it’s hard to stop when you find something beautiful!
I’m not sure I could do without a shower, I do it at home some days but I know I can take a shower if I want/need too.
It is, especially sunsets and sunrises. The colors are just sometimes so pretty. Haha! It was so hard to go without a shower especially since the ocean was a little too cold to jump into.
I am loving all those pictures!!! It looks absolutely beautiful. And the lighthouse! There is something about lighthouses….
I have never been to Maine. But it sounds like a great time! I don’t mind cabins, but I have to have a shower!
Thank you. It was so beautiful. That lighthouse is so pretty. You should try to vacation there at least once. The shower situation was a little rough, but we made do.
looks absolutely idyllic girl! Except the shower situation but it’s okay since I pretty much rarely wash my hair 😉
It was so peaceful. Waking to the waves was so nice. The sponge bath was a little interesting but at least I wasn’t stinky. 😉
Hi Kerry! I came across your blog from the link up. I am actually a 5 star hotel girl, but I can be flexible! It looks like you had a blast!! Enjoyed reading your blog 🙂
xoShannon
I would love a 5 star but I can totally rock the wilderness too. 😉 It was so pretty and peaceful. Thank you so much!
How beautiful! Maine is so scenic and peaceful. I’d love to go back.
It really is so scenic. It has a little bit of everything. You should, it is the perfect little getaway.
Such a pretty place! I’ve always wanted to go to Maine. My favorite vacation spot is Charleston. I absolutely adore it! I’m going at the end of this month and I absolutely cannot wait! As for the cabin or hotel person, it all depends for me. Depending on what I’m going to be doing and who I’m going with, I can pick either/or. Would you ever move to Maine?
Charleston is really pretty too. I would love to move to Maine, though the taxes are so expensive not sure I could ever afford it.
I could go with you next time. The relaxation sounds amazing. What a great vacay!
It was very relaxing. Being able to watch the sunset while reading and hearing the waves was perfect.
Pretty sure I follow you on Instagram and saw that fog photo when you originally posted it! Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you. It was oddly very calming and pretty.
Love the photos!!! Looks like such a great trip!
It was a great trip and lots to see and do but also very relaxing and laid back.
I loved seeing all your pictures on IG. Maine looks so beautiful.
I am a hotel kind of gal but if a cabin has AC, I can be persuaded. I don’t know how I feel about the lack of indoor plumbing, though.
I like hotels too, but a nice cabin in the woods is god for the soul! It had indoor plumbing just not a shower.
I loved following along with you on your trip through Instagram. Looks like so much fun!
Thank you. It was so fun and relaxing. I was really glad for a shower though.
Oh my your vacation looks so peaceful and beautiful. I didn’t realize Maine had beaches like that. It has to get SUPPPPERRR cold during winter though? And you can’t move even further away 🙁
It was so beautiful. Yes, there is so much coastline and lots of lobstermen out in the morning catching their fish. Yeah, the Winter is very rough and where we were it was about 5-10 degrees colder than further inland. Haha, I know if I ever do move it would probably be South.
Ooo! I love the fog picture. Looks like fun. I feel you on the shower situation 🙂 I am totally a cabin person. Jordan and I are actually going to stay in a cabin for 3 nights next month! We’re visiting Mount Rushmore in South Dakota for a little long weekend trip. We’re excited!
That was one of my favorites too. It gets ripe after awhile but it’s not so bad. Hope you have a great time, that sounds like fun.
