Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I can’t believe this week is the New Year. I really need to figure out what some of my goals will be for next year. I haven’t had a moment of peace to really sit down and think of what I want to accomplish. It is creeping up on us. Eek! Well on to the what I was up to this weekend.

Saturday: I really wanted to get some shopping done and use some of the gift cards that I got for Christmas so after a workout (I started P90X3 on Friday and I am loving it so far and I burned over 800 calories in 30 minutes) and a shower I headed out. I stopped at Target, then to Best Buy to schedule my remote car starter appointment which will not be until February (womp, womp – unless there is a cancellation), then to PetSmart. I got Seamus a marow bone and some grooming brushes. He really does not like to be brushed, but tough luck.
I hit Wal-Mart looking for a new battery for my Polar heart rate monitor and some floor mats for my gym. No luck in the battery but got a few other things. I stopped off at the library to pick up some books and then went home for a few hours. I went to Radio Shack to find the battery I needed for my Polar (success) and then grocery shopping. It was a lot of running around so I relaxed the rest of the night knitting a cabled cowl. I also got my gift from my Mom in the mail which was a monogrammed scarf. Isn’t it so pretty!?
I also started taking down all my Christmas decorations. I like to start the new year with a nice clean home.
Sunday: I am trying out a new recipe and it turned out pretty good. It was a breakfast pizza with Gouda cheese, chorizo, and egg on a pita pocket. It came out really good and will be posting the recipe tomorrow. I then took all the ornaments and lights off the tree and took the tree outside. After a sweep and vacuum I moved all my furniture back into place.Seamus decided to supervise while I did all the heavy lifting!
I worked out (the P90X3 Yoga – not my favorite) and I think I would prefer a 1,000 burpees over Yoga. In my old hometown this restaurant or should I say institution is closing at the end of December so my brother decided to have one final hurrah and order some takeout so I headed to his house for some pizza. The girls are seriously in love with technology and angry birds.
My niece stole my phone and deleted a few apps all in the name of playing some games. She mostly just takes a million pictures of half her face. She is just too cute so really how can I get mad.
It was an amazingly full weekend but I feel like I accomplished a lot.
How was your weekend?

I got a remote starter a few years ago for Christmas and also had to wait like 2 months for it to be installed! I’ve tried yoga a few times and can just never get in to it. Although burpees or yoga would be a tough choice! Did you head to Christo’s? I could totally go for some pizza now that I read this…yum!
Kerry says
I was a little bummed since it will most likely be installed after winter but here’s to hoping they have a cancellation. The yoga was too much it was like you changed position ever 5 seconds. I would rather do the same killer more for 30 seconds. It was just to much, I couldn’t get into it. Yes, we got takeout from Christo’s and ate it at my brothers house. I was kinda disappointed though the pizza wasn’t as good as it’s been in the past. I think they changed the dough recipe and the cheese. Still decent though.
Kate @ Another Clean Slate says
So funny! My grandma is up for a couple of weeks and HAD to go to Christos while she was here.
Kerry says
Too funny, it is such an institution here!! So sad they are closing, but they are opening a takeout place sometime soon. My sister and my Mom live in Minnesota and both asked if we picked up dressing. Haha!
Emily T says
I’ve always wanted a remote starter! At least you’ll still get some cold weather to use it. (I guess it works the same way in the summer…haha) Enjoy!
Kerry says
It is so nice to have especially in the cold winter months. I never even thought to use it in the summer, but you are right.
Jamie says
That breakfast pizza sounds good!
Kerry says
It was yummy and really quick to throw together.
Nikki @ The Pink Growl says
That pizza made my mouth water! I haven’t started the task of taking down the Christmas decorations yet…I’m really gonna miss my lights!
Kerry says
It was really good and pretty low in calories too. It was sad to see them go but I had like a whole tree on my floor. I was glad to have the space back too. 🙂

800 calories in 30 minutes… holy hell girl! What a work out. And damn you ran a ton of errands on Saturday, sounds like me! How much did your polar battery cost you? Also, apporoximately how long does the battery last? I have only had mine about 3 months now so I was just wondering when I can expect to have to change it. Lastly, that breakfast pizza sounds out of this world, I LOVE breakfast pizza. I can’t wait to get the recipe!
Kerry says
Yes it was an amazing workout but a lot of planks, burpees, pushups etc. A little sore today! 😉 The battery was like 6 bucks and I got my Polar about a year ago so probably replace once a year. It was so good and pretty low in calories.

My sister does the same thing when she steals my phone! It cracks me up!
Kerry says
It is so funny! They are so hypnotized by taking their own pictures! Haha!
SMD @ Life According to Steph says
Not a fan of yoga, my brain doesn’t turn off like that on command.
That’s an awesome monogrammed scarf!
Kerry says
Yeah I never get “Zen” enough and this one was moving to quickly I felt like a rag doll. No thanks! My Mom took my idea from my post and got it for me. I love it and its so soft! Hope you are enjoying your day off!
Helene says
love the scarf!! so pretty!! and i hate yoga but i know it’s so good for you!
Kerry says
Thank you! It is so soft too! Yes totally good for you, but I think I prefer strength training. Yes, I am weird! Haha!
kathy@vodka and soda says
when i get better at knitting/crocheting stuff, i’ll be coming to you for ideas and help on how to branch out with designs!!
Kerry says
You got it! Any time! I get a lot of patterns from Ravelry. Are you on there? It is like a knitting and crochet database where you can store all your projects and add to your to-make list.
Caren says
VERY curious to know how your experience with P90x3 is!! Once you’re further into it, please do a review post! I’m thinking of doing that very soon. Right now I’m redoing the first one, but Horton’s jokes get old real quick.
Happy new year Kelly!!!!!
Kerry says
I am loving it so far but I will totally review it one I get further through it. I was telling myself the same thing today during my workout. I am not a fan of his jokes at all!! He is so awkward, but I am really feeling the soreness and burning a lot of calories so far.
Kelly says
You were definitely busy! Yoga is not for everyone. I like it, but not the yogalates version my gym offers. Do you do the shakeology too? Are you using a fitness band to track calories burned? Happy New Year! Your dog is precious! 🙂
Kerry says
Yes, I have done a yoga class that was a little slower and more enjoyable but I can never get my mind to shut down enough to get “Zen”. I do drink Shakeology, but I do drink other protein powders as well. Yes, I have a Polar heart rate monitor and a FitBit that I use to track progress and calories burned. I love both of them. Thank you, Seamus is such a cutie he melts me heart. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
Angi Solle says
Ugh I can’t face the facts that people are starting to take christmas decorations down now! I am not at all ready!

Kerry says
I know I wish it could last forever but my tree was becoming a fire hazard. I am enjoying the extra space in my house though.
Amanda says
Johnny Cakes likes getting brushed a little TOO much… like, as in he gets a red rocket. Sick puppy. (Pun intended, obvs!)
Kerry says
What a little dirty bird!! I wish Seamus would like it more, his butt hair is all in tangles.
Janna Renee says
I’ve heard great things aboutthe new P90X! Im skeptical about 800 calories in 30 min, butthat’s great ifthat’s possible!
Kerry says
I really like it so far. I am only through the first week but it is getting me a great workout and sore after each one. The calories burned varies and I only got up to 800 on the one workout the rest have been around 350-500 calories.
