Happy Monday! I am not hating it as much as usual, maybe it is because it is a 3 day work week. It could be the mass amounts of family time and food on the horizon, it could be the crazy giddiness I am feeling for this time of year. I know you can slap me, I make myself sick. I can’t lie though it was so cold and it snowed a little and I just wanted to snuggle with Seamus but it was still perfect.
1. The morning started out like most weekends…shopping!! I hit up Michael’s for some yarn for a few projects I am doing as gifts. I also got a few new pieces for my Christmas village when it gets put together next weekend. Library and grocery shopping was next.
2. I made a yummy salad for lunch. Lettuce, cucumbers, pears, tomato, red onion and walnuts.
3. I made some Gluwein (mulled wine) while watching Christmas movies. I originally had this in Germany and I was hooked. It is really strong too but sweet.
4. I let Seamus out before bed and noticed a small dusting of snow!!
5. I went to a craft fair and there was over 130 vendors showing their goods. They even had a map so you could find everything. I ended up getting 2 gifts and one small item for a filler to a gift. I would share but the people I got them for may be reading.
6. It was really cold and the weather channel was forecasting snow. It started to flurry but stopped really soon after it started.
7. Just walking back to my car and my nose was already red. Rudolph called and asked for his nose back!
8. Lunch was a little random but really good. Lean top sirloin beef, corn, and cucumber with some green tea with lemon.
The rest of the day was spent cleaning, making dog treats and watching Christmas movies, then the Patriots game. Oh and knitting….
How did you spend your weekend?

YAY for a short week!
Kerry says
Is it weird I already want it over so I can finally decorate the rest of my house?
kathy @ vodka and soda says
i need to learn how to knit. for real…i’d knit myself the most amazing scarves and hats. it snowed here too and it was COLD! friends wanted to go trail running but i’m like, dudes, it’s -6 today; aint nobody got time fo dat!!
Kerry says
I could so teach you, or the best site for learning is knittinghelp.com she has a video for just about every stitch. I love being able to make my own hits, scarves and mittens. That is way to cold for trail running. I could barely make it outside to walk to the car. No thanks, I’ll snuggle under the blankets instead!
SMD @ Life According to Steph says
So flipping cold this weekend! I love that gray at the bottom, lovely color.
Kerry says
It was so cold and windy walking Seamus was brutal. Thank it is a nice blueish gray color, my favorite.
Erin says
Can you look for my nose while you’re looking for yours because I think mine left for the remainder of winter.
Kerry says
Isn’t it brutal?! It seems too early to be this cold and windy!! I may just hibernate until the spring!
Jessica says
You did so much better on your eating this weekend than I did. Being cold made me want to do nothing but stuff my face!
Kerry says
I totally want to just eat all the carbs, but I am trying to save my calories for Thanksgiving!! Haha!
Lauren says
Your scarf looks great! It’s in the 40s here and everyone is complaining… I can’t imagine the whining there would be if we got snow!
Kerry says
Thanks! I feel like there will be a lot of whining going on this winter. Sorry in advance! 🙂 Trying to walk Seamus the wind was whipping so hard I had tears in my eyes! Craziness, and the worst hasn’t even come yet.
Amanda says
I’m so jealous of everyone’s upcoming long weekends. 🙁 Although, this past one was 4 days for me so I can’t complain TOO much. And I’ll have leftovers to take with me to work this weekend which always helps soften the blow. 🙂 Your scarf is so cute! I don’t have the patience or talent to do anything like that! haha
Kerry says
Haha!! Yes, you just had a 4 day week and I am jealous! Besides one of our days is spent basically in a food coma so it doesn’t count! 🙂 It keeps my hands busy which keeps me from eating everything in sight in the winter. Hibernation sucks!
Erin says
your knitting looks amazing!!!!
Kerry says
Thank you! It is the perfect cold weather activity since it keeps me from being Yogi Bear and stealing picnic baskets (i.e. eating all the food in my house)!! Haha!
Brandi Barrera says
Sounds like a fun weekend! I feel like I was there because I followed along via Instagram all weekend 🙂 Seamus does not look impressed by the snow dust, so cute!
Kerry says
Hehe!! Yeah I am on Instagram more on the weekends! Oops. Seamus was not impressed, he likes to jump in big banks of snow but not the itty bitty snow. The flowing hair when he was running around in the wind was too funny though.
Helene says
looking at those temps makes me cold!! but that mulled wine sounds delicious! and i hit up michael’s this weekend too- so fun!
Kerry says
It is the perfect get warm and tipsy drink. Michael’s was so amazing and I wanted to buy so much Christmas decorations there!
Kristen @ Your Beauty Fix says
You are sooooo good at knitting! Thats a lovely pattern 🙂
Kerry says
Thank you! It is one of my favorite patterns. I have made a few before and I just found it again while cleaning!
Leeann @ Join the Gossip says
Each week it never ceases to amaze me how much you cram into the weekend!
Look at you with that fancy cable knitting! Good job 🙂
It didn’t snow in LA…but it did finally get cold for us. 60s DURING THE DAY! That’s basically freezing by our standards haha.
Thanks for linking up!
Kerry says
You are too kind, I always feel so boring! Haha! Thanks it will be perfectly toast once it’s done! Ohhhh I am so jealous of your warm weather. My hands are so dry from the cold.
nancy @ adore to adorn says
Likewise for me, Monday is so much easier to “deal with” knowing we have a short week! =) Love!
Your weekend sounds lovely! We had a great weekend as well with friends and just running errands. I love the simplicity of an easy weekend compared to a busy jam-packed one sometimes. =)
xo,
nancy
Kerry says
Yes, I would take a nice relaxing weekend over a jam-packed one any day especially this time of year.
Queen Fitness Blondie L says
How do you cook your sirloin girl? I don’t have a grill and have a hard time cooking sirloin and it actually tasting good.
Kerry says
I actually just cooked it on the stovetop in a skillet with some coconut oil. I put the heat on medium and sprinkled a little garlic salt and onion powder on it and cooked on all sides until whatever level of “non-pinkess” (not really a word) you like. I am a well done kinda gal. If the pan starts to get a little dry add a little more coconut oil, it was still tender and really good.
Renee Bursey says
That salad looks really yummy, way better than the one I brought to work today!
Kerry says
Thank you. Sometimes I just randomly toss a bunch of things into the mix and it turns out really yummy!
