For Thanksgiving for the last 10 years or so I have been bringing the dessert options. There are still some pies and such but I tend to make either cookies, and the ever requested buckeye bars. I like to try at least one new recipes and magic bars are one of my favorites so I wanted to come up with my own twist. Based on what I had on hand I decided to try out some toffee and butterscotch.

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). I used a homemade cookie dough I had in the freezer but the Toll House rolls are fine too. Place your cookie dough in a 13 x 9 inch glass pan, press down into the pan. Try not to eat any of it.

Warm up the butterscotch in a glass dish in the microwave for 25-30 seconds. Spoon on top of the cookie dough and spread out.

- Cookie Dough of Choice
- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 Cup of Toffee Bits
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- ⅓ cup Butterscotch
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
- Place your cookie dough in a 13 x 9 inch glass pan, press down into the pan.
- Warm up the butterscotch in a glass dish in the microwave for 25-30 seconds.
- Spoon on top of the cookie dough and spread out.
- Sprinkle the toffee bits on top, then add the chocolate chips.
- Pour the condensed milk and spread to the edges of the pan.
- Top with the shredded coconut.
- Bake until edges are golden brown, about 25 minutes. Let cool before cutting into bars.
Why do you do this to me so early in the morning! These look so good – I swear every time you bake it comes out better and better!! Happy Tuesday girl!
Haha! Trust me I had to re-shoot these this morning and i wanted to have them for breakfast. I completely understand! 😉 Thank you so much, I try to always improve and get better. Happy Tuesday!
Mmmm! You had me at butterscotch! And Heath! These look delicious! And very seasonally appropriate.
It was such a good mix of flavors. I wanted it for breakfast lunch and dinner but I am trying to save my calories for the big day. 😉
HAHAHA “Try not to eat any of it!!”
Things like this make me wish I liked coconut. I guess I could leave it off, right?
That was really hard not to eat. You could totally leave it off.
Amazing! Sans coconut for myself, of course. They look decadent and wonderful.
Of course. The chocolate and cookie mixed with the butterscotch and toffee bits. I wanted to face plant in it. Too much?! Nah.
Stopping by from the link-up. These sound A.MAZ.ING!
Thank you so much. All the ingredients blended so well, I wanted to eat it all instead of holding it for Thanksgiving. 😉
oh.my.gosh. seriously these look beyond amazing. yummmmm.
I seriously wanted to just sit and devour it with a spoon! Haha!
Oh wow wow wow!!! Seriously, how do you come up with this stuff? I don’t think you could put any more of my favorite things into one dessert!
Haha! Normally I just throw in whatever I have in the kitchen. Or I have a favorite dessert that I try to add the most random stuff in that makes it a little different.
Yummmmmmmmmmmm this is one of my favorite desserts 🙂
They are my weakness, I can’t resist them.
They look great. I will try them!
Thanks!
Love, SMD’s Momma
Thanks! Hope you like them.
Those looks so good!! I totally need to try and make them!!
I second that, you should totally make them. I had to taste test another one tonight. Hehe!
These are perfection…except for the coconut. Leave that off for me, and it’s back to perfection! YUM!
Haha! I think that can’t be arranged. Thank you.
oh my word!!!!! Sign me up…. all of my favourite stuff in 1 bar!!!
When i thought I was done adding things, I added a little more! 😉
This recipe looks amazing! I’m a huge fan of both caramel and heath bars so I’m sure I would love it.
I think you would, but you will have to try it and let me know! 😉
I love love love toffee! THese look so good!
Thank you. The little bit of crunch in these from the toffee is so good. I want to eat the whole pan. Hehe.
Holy crap! I love butterscotch. My aunt used to make these but she called them something else and I did not like coconut but I did not mind it in these. Now I like coconut so I need to have these. asap.
Butterscotch is one of my favorites too. I think you would really like this if you are a coconut fan.
I can’t with you and these absolutely mouth watering recipes … Also when do you even have the time?? You amaze me!
I have birds from the forest that clean my house. Haha! Just kidding. I just pick one day and bake away.
This sounds delicious! My mom makes magic bars every year and I’ve never been a fan… but THIS I could definitely get on board with!
Girl, this will convert you to the sweet side.
These sound SO good! Magic Bars are wonderful and I can’t imagine how this twist could go wrong!
Magic Bars are my favorite, add in the butterscotch and it was other worldly. I wanted to eat the whole pan.
