If you remember, last Christmas my Aunt and Uncle gave me about 7-9 bottles of wine they had from either guests or as gifts. Since they don’t really drink they gave them to me. I figured I would be able to use them in recipes. I used a bottle when I made Gluhwein. It is a mulled red wine that gets heated down to become a very sweet treat. It is perfect in the Winter.
Now that Fall is Near I figured I could use up another bottle making some Sangria. I chose to use peaches and cherries mostly because I had leftover peaches from a sandwich I made and I just really like cherries. If you don’t like either fruit feel free to substitute.
Directions: Place the cherries and peach slices in a pitcher, and pour the Chardonnay over top the fruit. Let sit up to 4 hours or overnight. Fill a wine glass halfway with the wine and fruit mixture. Top with the Peach Moscato champagne.
I think that it was sweet enough and didn’t need to add anything however feel free to add a TSP of sugar if you prefer it sweeter or milder. You can also splash with Sprite for a milder taste too.
Feel free to also check out my Mango Sangria, Fresh and Fruity Sangria, or Watermelon Sangria.
Do you like Sangria?
What fruits do you add to Sangria?
- 1 Bottle Chardonnay (750ml) ~ 1 cup frozen cherries ~ 1 Large peach (peeled and sliced) ~ Peach Moscato
- Place the cherries and peach slices in a pitcher, and pour the Chardonnay over top the fruit. Let sit up to 4 hours or overnight. Fill a wine glass halfway with the wine and fruit mixture. Top with the Peach Moscato champagne.
- I think that it was sweet enough and didn't need to add anything however feel free to add a TSP of sugar if you prefer it sweeter or milder. You can also splash with Sprite for a milder taste too.

I like my sangria with some fizz so I would definitely take your Sprite suggestion. Sounds good. And, I’m in awe of the fact that wine lasts that long in your house… you have lots of willpower 😉
Kerry says
The Peach Moscato was a champagne so it was a little bubbly but Sprite would add a little extra fizz for sure! I don’t drink nearly that often. 😉
SMD @ Life According to Steph says
I love peaches in sangria, white grapes too (frozen).
Kerry says
I wanted to add grapes but I totally forget them at the store. Next time!
Biana says
Those are the perfect fruits to add to the sangria for fall!! I have a problem with being impatient and letting it sit for 4 hours would be so hard for me lol!
Kerry says
Haha! The waiting is hard but it does bring out the fruit flavors more if you wait. 😉

Raspberries and blueberries is a very good combination.
tricia congilio says
I love peaches but have typically used strawberries, apples and oranges in Sangria. I def would like to try peach. Also, I wasn’t really into Sangria but as my alcohol tolerance dwindles this may be good for me 🙂
Kerry says
I love strawberries and oranges too. It is lighter than hard alcohol and easier to drink than plain wine. The fruit totally makes it healthy right? 😉
Lindsay Templeton says

Stacia says
Peach sangria is wonderful. The addition of cherries makes it sound divine!
Kerry says
Thank you. The peach is the more dominant flavor but the hint of cherries was nice.
Carly Blogs Here says
I always think I like sangria– like whenever I see anyone drinking it, but whenever I have it, I just really don’t care for it! However… I loooove peach so this looks delicious! Could you do it without the cherries or would that taste weird?
Kerry says
You could easily do it without the cherries. It is really just sweeter versions of wine. You can always add Sprite too if it is not sweet enough.
